Cary's Ponds Stonework and Landscaping

Cary called me immediately, on a Sunday morning! to let me know he would attempt to take care of my problem later in the week. He gave me tips on how to manage the pump failure and keep my koi fish alive for a few days until he could arrive. Once he and his foreman arrived, they made quick work of the repair and got the pump working wonderfully. Overall, a very profession job!

In this day, I find it difficult to find good customer service! Cary is all about this concept. Communication, expectations, budget ect. With any project, there will be changes and/or re-thoughts of what you thought you might want and what is truly possible. Cary brings years of experience with his awesome ideas for landscaping. I have had so many compliments on my back yard. Cary and I will be doing the front next.

Was timely and helpful in resolving a project that was messed up by a previous contractor. Note: the previous contractor was located through Angi list and was a complete failure. Caryâ s Pond got the pond reclined completely and added a waterfall feature that was just perfect. The cost was reasonable and he took the time needed to make it right.

It is extremely to find an excellent contractor nowadays who takes pride in his work. Luckily, Cary is one of a few who cares about his clients. If I can give him more than 5 stars, I would. He and his co-worker, Kenny spent many hours working on my pond. He did not rush to finish the project because he wanted to get it done right. He updated the process with me daily. Nice work, Cary. This is the second yard we had Cary design and landscape for us. His work is beautiful! He is very dependable, honest, and hardworking. We love the work he has done. He has made our backyard an oasis, we are enjoying the pond and trees! Thank you Cary! Again!

Outstanding work done by an obvious professional!

Cary is one of the best professionals I have ever worked with . The quality of his work and craftmanship is second to none. He follows through with everything he says he will do. He is a wonderful person in addition to being a terrific builder of quality ponds and fountains. I would recommend him without qualification.

Cary did an outstanding job on my backyard to bring it to life again ... it looks great! He had wonderful idea's and suggestions that included rock, plants, and irrigation system. I love sitting on my deck in the evening to enjoy the beautiful backyard. Thank you Cary !!!!!

Carey designed a beautiful pond and waterfall, as well as landscaping. He took my ideas and turned our yard into a lovely retreat. His knowledge and experience show in his work. He and his crew worked hard, even in the heat of summer.

Cary provided a bid on landscaping for our tiny backyard. The initial bid was simply a single sheet of paper with estimated costs. He sent sample photos of other work he had done via text, but we never saw any drawings or work-up of our expected finished product. When asked for more detail, we were repeatedly simply told **You are gonna love it, kids** The work was initially expected to be completed in two weeks. Due to COVID-19 the project was understandably delayed due to state restrictions and a reduced crew. However, in the 6 weeks it took to complete the job there was not a single day when he and his 2 helpers worked a full day. They were constantly splitting their time between our home and other projects they had taken on since ours. All the communication we overheard between them was him yelling in a rude, belittling fashion at his crew: we never knew when (or if) they would arrive or how long they would stay. Some days they arrived around 9am, but were gone by 2pm. Other days, they had a chainsaw going by 7am in our residential neighborhood - but rarely stayed beyond lunchtime. When asked to explain their sporadic schedule and frequent absences, Cary had one excuse after another. In the end, we were asked for payment on four separate occasions for the single job: the last installment was AFTER we paid the final invoiced amount, which he then explained was only **final** for a portion of the work. When we hired Cary, it was with the understanding that a project as small as ours did not warrant the $8k-$10k price tag a few other commercial vendors had quoted. Cary agreed with us, stating that he would be able to complete the job for roughly half that price. In the end, we paid him a total of just over $7,000 and felt the work was just **so-so**;. For highly visible features like flagstone and lighting, he purchased what HE thought would look best rather than consulting with us - and we are less than impressed with his choices. For just a little more money we could have had a much more professional bid, more interaction with a team, and a better result. Cary is a nice man, but he seems sorely out of touch with what customers **are gonna love**. We were disappointed with the process, the cost, and the end result.

Absolutely fabulous work and quality

Cary is a bit of a throwback. He doesn't take money before he works. He works without limit until the project is perfect. He will not let a project go until it is done according to specification. He has around 50 years in the landscaping business and landscaping is a broad term in this case because his walls and water features and stone patios are excellent. He has done all three for us and we are completely satisfied. Be aware of one thing. If you are a customer in a hurry, this is probably not the company for you. This is a collaborative relationship built on a meeting of the minds between you and the landscape company. Your patience will soon be rewarded when you see the final product. I would recommend this company without reservation.

Cary is a wonderful person to help you plan a pond in your yard.He is totally honest and his team of two great workers and Cary are fun to observe as your backyard is transformed into something wonderful and beautiful. He is most knowledgeable about all aspects surrounding ponds, fish and maintenance. We got much more than I expected for our money. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Cary took our monolithic pond that came with the house and converted it into a lovely stream with collecting pools. He really cared about protecting our fish and making sure they didn't experience to much stress.He took the time to review all my pinterest suggestions and reused as much material as possible and made sure the pond was leak free. He protect our side walk and kept the job site clean. And the best unexpected bonus was we had a frog move in within hours, guess we weren't the only ones happy with the project.

"Do it like it's yours and it will come out good!" This is Cary's philosophy, for doing his creative craft! It sure worked for my project! Cary and his very hard working crew, transformed my weed infested yard and broken, oversized waterfall, into the most beautiful, backyard retreat! Worthy of the street of dreams! I walk around my gorgeous, serenity grounds, my happy place, several times a day, just to take in the beauty and the joy, it gives me! What a positive impact, Cary's knowledge and creativity, has had on my life! Out of 5 stars, I would give him 20! When everything is in bloom, my exceptionally beautiful backyard, will be fit for an elegant wedding! Without an expensive landscape plan and just showing him a picture, from Pinterest, of what I had in mind, Cary created an affordable backyard, beyond my dreams, because he knows what he is doing and is very experienced and yet, knows how to save you money, on your project!

A hardworking man who loves his job and has a lot of creative ideas. Excellent follow through. He installed a small creek like feature in our front yard that has added so much to it. Added a lot of wow. He also did this unfortunately during record heat in Oregon, it was a terrible time to be working outside and they understandably had to not work some days. Wasn't a problem for us, he had great follow through.

Cary is very hands on contractor and he and his crew have a great attention to detail ethic... We have a very difficult hillside yard area and they came up with some excellent and creative ways to enhance the yard, yet make overall on grain maintenance minimal.. Great work and very fair pricing.
