Customers say: True professional

"C & C Roofing guaranteed us no leaks and even promised to come back out if the leak continued anytime within the next few months after their repairs. We are pretty much through the rough weather season and that was not necessary as everything seems to have been taken care of properly on the first visit."

"American Construction & Remodeling did a wonderful job with my bathroom. The owner, Dennis, was very communicative throughout the entire process. Dennis and his team made sure to consult with me on aesthetic decisions and made it known that my happiness with the project was a high priority for them. At the end of each day, they were happy to give me a rundown of what had been done that day and what the plan was for the next day. The project took a bit longer than originally projected, however, I am very pleased with the quality of the job as well as the positivity and respectfulness of the crew."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.
