"Kyle was amazing, in that he provided timely and accurate answers to all of my questions. They showed great respect for my home. The entire process of working through the options and their explanation of each one was top-rate.
I really wanted to go with them as a company, but for the exact same equipment, another bid was about two-thousand dollars less.
I still wish their price had been closer, as I would have been willing to pay a slight premium to have them do the installation.
The impression I received was that their bids are usually very competitive. They were genuinely surprised that another bid was lower and puzzled over how the other company could provide the same equipment for less.
I would recommend Kyle and Sun Glow to anyone looking for an honest, respectful company to install heating or air conditioning equipment.

"Furnace stopped working Sat evening, called and scheduled for next day service call. Corie showed up on time. He was courteous and professional. After a few minutes of checking various connections, he diagnosed the problem(loose connection). After fixing the problem and making sure it was working correctly, he cleaned up his work area, and left."

"I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was okay. They did a good job, but in the course of trying to sell me another service they pulled up a floor vent and made kind of a mess in my hallway, which I was not super-happy about, but it was not the end of the world. He did not ask me if he could pull up the vent and if he would have asked me I would have told him not to do it. This was the first time I used this company. They were very fast and efficient with the dryer vent cleaning and I have no complaints about that at all. I had a little trouble getting the service scheduled."

"Phone calls were answered promptly, and the estimator arrived within a week and provided a written estimate on the spot - far better service than the 2 other companies we called for estimates. Alpha Energy was running a special for the month of July, so the price was very competitive. The team that came to do the work was on time and efficient. The only problem was a miscommunication between the estimator and the work crew. We were told that they would be able to remove the siding and drill holes on the exterior to install the insulation - but the work crew thought they were to drill holes on the inside. They were not able to remove the siding without cracking it, so we had them do the installation from the inside. The work was perfectly fine, but did not include patching of the holes in the walls. This was not the fault of the work crew - they did a fantastic job. I would just recommend having everything spelled out in the estimate to avoid misunderstandings."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Common problems include leaks, low pressure, and inefficient heating. Regular maintenance prevents many issues.

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

The most important sign of a boiler problem is something happening unexpectedly, which is why regular boiler maintenance is important. Unexpected problems can include strange smells, new leaks, and unexpected noises that your boiler wasn’t making before. Additionally, if a boiler keeps shutting off or can’t maintain a specific temperature range, it’s time to call in an expert.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.
