"Looking for a contractor for your remodeling job? We give John Wood five stars. We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. The job required skills that extended beyond new construction to include the insight, skill and craftsmanship of a highly experienced remodeling expert. He possessed these in spades. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. The job was doubly challenging given that for much of the construction period we were out of state getting our old home ready for sale. This also meant that an extra element of trust was involved. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. As with any large construction/remodeling project, there were some unexpected expenses that came up, but John worked with us to help limit cost overruns, sometimes foregoing profits. He was also always up front about the costs of the various components. Our new home is gorgeous and reflects his sharp eye for detail. We couldn’t be happier. "I live just down the street from Rob and I had a simple task I asked completed of caulking in the shower. Whether his work was faulty or the product was faulty I don't know, but three times it didn't work. I try not to make assumptions about people. All our conversations have been via text, so I have a full written accounting of what happened. After the last time did not work, he offered to redo it once more or provide a refund and I immediately replied back that I would accept the refund and wish him well. He was going through some family health issues so I didn't press it and I waited to hear from him. Instead of honoring my wish to move forward with the refund he offered, in writing, and I accepted in writing, he tried to schedule a time to redo it. He then says he didn't mean to offer a refund and he refuses to honor it now. He told me I should just file a complaint and "try to ruin his reputation". Just another reason why it's best not to involve neighbors in professional endeavors. I'm sad it turned out this way."

Macy has I/DD and Autism and will likely not be able to live away from us, her parents, unless she is in assisted living of some sort. However, together with her grandma we sought to create an environment for her to live as independently as possible and for her to grow into.
