"I am a 63 year old Remodel Contractor with 40 years experience and 130 five star reviews online. On September 2018, the client bought a quick flip house a few doors down. I know it was a flip because I had worked with the previous owner for years and was told it was sold to “investors” . I witnessed the quick turn around time before it was sold to client. On April 2022, client contracted me to replace the shower surround caulk that he said had been in bad shape for a long time, implying it had failed not long after it was installed. A few weeks after my work, I was told that the caulk was not adhering. I replaced it with a different adhesive caulk at no charge and told the client that if this fails then there is moisture in the walls behind the shower surround. A year later on March 2023 I was contacted about the same issue. Again, I told the client there was moisture in the walls but redid everything at no charge because he was my neighbor. Another year later on March 2024, the client contacted me again about the same issue. For the third time I told him that he had moisture behind the shower walls but made plans to redo for the fourth time, once I returned from caring for my 93 year old mother in California. Instead the client hired someone else and then demanded a refund. In less than six years, the caulk has failed four times. It is not my workmanship but a cheap shower surround, poorly installed by inexperienced flippers. If anyone reading this has any questions about this job, please contact me."
"Someone barely touched your mailbox. You wanted an estimate to replace it. I gave that to you. I then asked how I was going to get paid. You had no idea. Why would anyone take on this job when there are no guarantees as to who is going to pay for the work? I am sorry you had such a poor experience with me but I know of no other licensed contractor who would risk doing this work. Rob Willis Mt. Tabor Construction 503 756-3219"
"Unfortunately, I did not get my point across to you when I said that I was currently working out of state and it would be unprofessional of me to give you a bid over the phone concerning a project that I have not inspected. You kept pushing me for a phone bid until I realized that I would not be a good fit for you. I was very curtious and thanked you for your call. For this, you give me my worst review in a decade?
