"After interviewing 8 contractors, Dorson Jackson was the obvious choice for our major project/home remodel, touching on every room in the house. From the very start, Dorson has been responsive & communicative, something rare and incredibly appreciated. He's not just a contractor, he's a businessman and understands the entirety of taking on a huge project for us. He dedicated an extraordinary amount of time for his bidding process, breaking the house down into zones, and then listing every single change, plus parts and labor fees for the changes, in every zone. Every other contractor gave us a one or two page bid with very few details. Dorson's proposal was a detailed 17 page document. He is EXTREMELY organized and we were super impressed with the effort he put into bidding the project. We have since hired Dorson Construction and he and his team have begun demolition. He also sent photos to us of every room in the house after demolition so we could see what he had done, what issues were found that he had prepared for as possibilities in his bid, and comments on each photo explaining what he saw after demo. Because we are not living locally, having someone we can trust with our home from far away is of the utmost importance. Dorson recently brought his son on board and we have been equally impressed with his follow up and thoroughness. In addition, Dorson has gone out of his way to help us with our permitting process, which is not part of his job and was only necessary due to failure of a third party. "Kudos to: Rob, Lawrence, Scott, Kendall, Morgan, and Brendan. Rob made sure info. / wants/needs from things we asked to be taken care of were well known to crew in doing the various jobs. We had a partial fence built, siding cleaning, moss treatment on roof, assorted jobs taken care of inside house.They ALL did a great job EVERYWHERE. Scott, the lead contact person was very kind, and "getting the job done" kinda person doing things really well/ communicating very well! He, Lawrence, and Kendall spent extra time( working later than usual), getting the fence done so my indoor/outdoor cat could be in the backyard safely, and not get out( lost). Made me very happy they were so caring in this aspect, and many other areas, doing FANTASTIC work in all they did. EVERYONE WAS A HARD WORKER, doing really great jobs in all they did. Respectful, jobs WELL done, cleaned areas really well. They stacked the old fence boards and excess pieces of boards leftover in area specified, so we could use the wood for kindling in our wood stove. Did this very nicely! Brendan did fantastic (very careful in all areas), when doing the power washing. Moved my planter back for me so I didn't have to. Morgan took time to moss treat roof VERY WELL; wetting down the roof first, so the moss treatment powder stuck to roof, then sprayed the roof again to start the treatment to working{since no rain expected for quite a while}. He fixed the things requested inside the house:quickly, expertly, friendly,and done correctly; while respecting the areas he was working in( not to leave messes, cleaning up areas he was working in... as needed. :>) :>) Rob and Brendan moved our BBQ grill back to" it's " spot so we didn't have to. They also cleaned up excess concrete leftover and touched up the "treated" fence boards to seal well against the rain. Then took their supplies out of the way, leaving things wonderfully cleaned up. It's no wonder they're ALWAYS sooo busy, they do excellent, QUALITY work. We've had them do MANY other jobs for us, and we're STILL very happy with Rob and ALL his crew. "Acacia and I can most definitely recommend Joe Arnold. He has done all kinds of work for us and for many others who have asked me for referrals: landscape designing and building, irrigation systems, fencing, roof repairs, plumbing, electrical work, dry wall, installing fixtures, painting, washer and dryer repairs, door installation and refinishing, etc., etc, etc. He is immensely knowledgeable, extremely creative when looking for fixes to problems, easy to work with, and easy to reach and communicate with. As anyone who has had contractors work on their homes can testify, the importance of this last item about being able to reach and communicate with your contractor cannot be underestimated. Here is an example of the kind of work Joe does and the kind of man he is. A friend of ours had started a major bathroom remodeling project. As so so often happens, months into the project, thousands of dollars invested, and major demolition work done, my friend's contractor abandoned her, disappeared without a trace, leaving her for several months without a bathroom. I referred her to Joe Arnold. Giving her exactly what she wanted, Joe finished the job in two weeks and for thousands less than the original contractor wanted. That's Joe. And speaking of having saved this friend money, Joe's fees were always very fair in cost. More than fair. On this last point, beyond the type of savings he generated for one neighbor, several other neighbors to whom I have referred Joe have actually paid him more than his estimate because they felt he was charging them TOO LITTLE. What more can I say than that?"

"I was looking for someone to repair a leak where my patio cover met the wall of my garage. I had several estimates but chose this company because they were the only ones to "find" a soft spot in the rest of my roof that "needed" the plywood replaced. Their estimate was $1000 more than anyone else but I figured that was because of the soft spot repair. A $760 down payment was required to start the work. The contractors arrived, proceeded with the work, told me the soft spot was fine and didn't need to be replaced, and finished the next day. Nobody came to inspect the contractors work to make sure all was done. When the bill arrived, I went up to check the work and noticed that not everything was done and it still leaked. I sent a text message to the company. No response. I sent an email the next day and their representative came to my house and confirmed that not all the work was done and they would send the contractors out again,...but it would required another down payment of $1140 this time, even though it wasn't my fault their contractors didn't finish the job. The contractor showed up unexpectedly a week later; nobody had told me they would be arriving that day, and finished the job. The company only took $105 off the final invoice for not needing to repair the soft spot. I could've saved $1000 with someone else and probably had an easier time of it. FYI, this company only guarantees their repair work for 30 days. EDIT 04/24/2023: was offered a $500 refund to remove my reviews or change them to 5 stars. I canâ t figure out how to remove this one so I changed it to 5 stars. I need the cash to find someone else to fix the leak."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.  
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"Derik stepped in to finish a bathroom remodel after another Angie’s list contractor wasn’t able to finish due to Covid and personal issues. Derik did a great job although it is difficult to step in where someone has left off. His tile work was excellent and that majority of the job. He handled the installation of the toilet, vanity, mirrors etc. like the good contractor he is. He was great about asking questions so his work would finish the project and meet my vision."
