"Fred is top-notch - reliable, affordable, and detail oriented. I had him remodel two bathrooms and both turned out great. I look forward to working with him again. If you are considering having work done, he is the guy you want. He has years of experience and can do it all. His estimate was thorough and accurate, he was always prompt, reliable, and great to communicate with. He went above and beyond several times to make sure the project turned out great. I've worked with many contractors over the years and Fred is one of the best."

"Donnie and his helper did a better job than I could have expected. They brought things I never thought about to my attention and I agreed with their thinking. They are knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and showed up for my estimate exactly when I had requested. They are the best contractor I have encountered in my 35 years in Eugene. The next time i have an outside project, they are my guys!!!"

"We needed a new vinyl click lock floor installed throughout our house. Adam and Jack were wonderful. It was a pretty big job, and they did amazing work. Very conscientious about doing a great job, timely and cleaned up every night, as we were living in the house while they worked. Can’t recommend them enough, 5 stars ⭐️ Plus !"

I recently left the union as a journeyman carpenter and superintendent. I built custom homes in my 20’s after graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Before college I worked in all phases of construction from concrete and framing to finish work. I have a well rounded understanding of building and am passionate about what I do and the quality of work I provide. In my personal life I am led by Jesus. I enjoy running several times a week and working out in my home gym. My goals are to provide value to my clients and give back to my community.

"This was a real estate transaction that had urgent deadlines for repairs. Jordan was at the home to evaluate that same day I called him. They were able to come to the home within a couple days to complete the repairs so we could pass the inspection. They did an extremely thorough job, more than what was expected, and everyone involved was happy with their services. I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend this company to anyone needing repairs or remodeled work done!!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

If the bowing basement wall is less than 2 inches, steel or carbon fiber straps are the best solution. For bowing that is more than 2 inches, wall anchors are the most effective. A contractor can help you decide the best method of repair for your home's foundation and also address the root cause of the trouble.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Yes, you will need a jack for a rim joist replacement. To prevent sagging and facilitate the removal of load-bearing wood, you’ll need to relieve the pressure from this joint before beginning work.

Due to hydraulics and other specialized equipment, a sill plate and rim joist replacement are not typically a DIY project. Hiring a professional structural engineer and experienced contractors is the best approach to replacing rotted sill plates and rim joists.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.
