Complete slab stone and Quartz fabrication, and installations. Owner is 5th generation stone worker, and has been doing stone slab fabrication full time since 1982. We do residential, and light commercial jobs. We specialize in Marble, Limestone, and Soapstone (and all of the other stones as well!). Our clients are all from word of mouth referrals (except for Angie's list). We specialize in custom work. I invite you to call us for your work- large jobs or small ones, they are all important. We also do repair work, either in our shop, or on site if needed. Your broken table, or other stone may be salvaged. Just call and I can tell you if it is possible (I have personally repaired "Humpty Dumpty" at least 1000 times, and most of the time you couldn't tell he fell off of the wall!) I could go on, and on, and on, but I think you've read enough. For more info on our services, just call. Not all gas fireplaces need a chimney. If you install a ventless gas fireplace, it will release low levels of combustion byproducts back into your living space (instead of pushing them outside through a chimney or vent). Ventless fireplaces burn fuel efficiently, so the emissions are minimal—but they could bother people with allergies or respiratory issues.

The short answer is yes, but the longer answer is more complex. Unless the fireplace is ventless by design, you’ll need some type of exhaust pipe system to safely send fumes and other harmful byproducts out of the house. Even then, ventless fireplaces are not always permitted because they do keep the byproducts inside of your house. Ventless fireplaces are safest when installed in spaces that are themselves well-ventilated, like large rooms with lots of windows.

Additionally, catalytic wood stoves include a catalytic combustor that can reduce emissions and create a cleaner burn no matter what the stove is made of. A fireplace hearth is necessary in most areas per building codes, especially for gas and wood-burning fireplaces. Electric fireplaces may not require a hearth, so check local building codes or ask a pro for guidance if you’re leaning toward electric.
