"I wish I had checked Angi first and found this company when my gas fireplace stopped working. The first company I hired charged me almost twice what Refiner's did, and did a terrible job leaving it broken, and wanting $1600 more to fix it! RFS was hired for a second opinion. So glad I did! Kevin from RFS came out, fixed the issues and had it working fine within a 1/2 hr. for no additional charge than the service call. I highly recommend Kevin and this company! Excellent communication with their office as well."

"They didn't use real stone and undercounted the number of pillars that needed work and resorted to wide gaps to stretch the insufficient material to complete the job. The resulting work is serviceable but mediocre."

Gas Fireplace Service questions, answered by experts

In some ways, yes, and in some ways, no. As for how they’re the same, propane and gas both burn via the same process, combustion, and at the same temperature, around 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit. The difference is that propane produces more heat per unit than gas. One cubic foot of propane contains 2,516 BTU, while one cubic foot of gas contains 1,030 BTU.

A few factors determine the amount of time it takes to convert from an oil to a gas furnace, mainly adding in the gas lines, updating your appliances, removing the old oil system, and installing a chimney line. These projects can vary, but you should expect them to take at least two or three days to complete.

Refinishing an appliance is often more cost-effective than buying a new one, gives it a refreshed look, and can extend its lifespan. It also allows for personalization, enabling you to choose custom colors to match your decor that might not be available from manufacturers. However, refinishing is not always the best option. It will not cover heavy dents, and it is not a solution for old appliances that are no longer in good working order. For old or faulty appliances, replacing them is a safer long-term solution.

Electric stoves cost an average of $600 to $1,300. Gas stoves can cost as little as $300 but are usually around $1,000. The price depends on functionalities, capacity, and technology. Newer models with Wi-Fi connection or remote app control typically cost a lot more. Induction stoves, one of the newest additions to the market, can be an expensive upfront investment. Most of them cost around $1,500, with higher-end models costing over $2,500.

Yes, gas dryers still need electricity. While their heating system relies solely on natural gas to produce the heat that dries your clothes, gas dryers use electricity to power the lights and display screens on their interface, turn on the drum, and power any automatic moisture sensors inside the unit.
