It was on a weekend, an emergency-type thing, so it was very expensive because it was overtime.

They were great and were out twice. They knew what they were doing.
"Dear [removed member name], Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. I apologize if we somehow let you down by not calling you for maintenance. We had some notes on a prior job that you would call us for camera service and we see that service was completed. I did not have an additional note to contact you for service and it would have fallen into my hands or someone in the office to do so. I will call you to reach you to you to see if we can assist you in any way in hopes that this will show good faith effort on our part at this time. Thanks again for letting us know in hopes we can correct this with you."

Update on this. I got the bill from Powers and the cost was supposed to include the first two hours. So even though the plumber was not there for two hours, I got charged an extra 1/2 hour for his driving time from the office to my house in Clairemont. No one told me that I would be charged for driving time and I find this a little ridiculous. I was going to have them do the big work for me but I won't now! They were also supposed to get back to me on a bid for the work, including installing a clean out. It has been a week and all I got today was an invoice. They were also supposed to provide me with a video of the camera work which I have not received. The guy I talked to on the phone today said he would have to look into it. So I changed my initial A's to C's and F's for the following reasons:
Price: F because I was not told I have to pay for the driving time. This may be current practice but it should be disclosed up front.
Quality: C because I have not received the video of my sewer line and it has been a week.
Responsiveness: C because they did respond right away to send people out but should get an F on follow-up.
Punctuality: A still because everyone got there on time.
Professionalism: C because they were nice but the price gouging and lack of follow-up are very unprofessional.
So even though Chris was a great guy and did his job, the back office administration part is what I am complaining about and the reason I will never call this company again. Chris is the only reason they are getting C's and not F's on everything else.
"Dear [Member], Apparently there was a communication problem that should have been handled better. I apologize to you that we did not meet your expectations or that there was a disconnect with what you wanted and what we thought you wanted. We know that you set this job up with our foreman. He briefed Chris our plumber on the job and explained that you were embarking on a building addition. He stated that at the time you booked the job you did not mention that you wanted us to bid the job or he did not interpret it this way. The plumber walked the job with you and when we got the completed work order we thought that our work was done so we sent you an invoice. We did not believe at the time you wanted to get a copy of the video because you were there on site with the plumber and you were able to get your questions answered. When you called our office a few days later, I then understood that you wanted the copy of the recording. You did not mention a bid at that time, so despite our efforts to respond to you I was not aware that the bid was needed and of course we could have provided you with this. Instead, I sprang into action to get you a copy of the recorded material. I admit that had trouble with burning the DVD. Normally, we send email photos of the trouble areas because they reflect the parts that are damaged and that is really the only part of the inspection that is usually relevant besides being easy to transmit by email but you stated you wanted a video. I found a way by using my drop box. When I called you to confirm your receipt of the recording you said you got it but by then it was after the review and you stated you did not want us to bid on this job for you within the context of the review. As for our rates, the foreman went over the cost for the camera inspection which is up to two hours of time, though most inspections take less time. We believe that you are absolutely entitled to get all of your questions answered. In doing so though, after the first two hours, then the plumbers rates were triggered and there was an extra half hour billed for the job. We aim to be transparent and just because most inspections take less time does not mean that we could not have done a better job in communicating the rate after the first two hours or the travel time which is portal to portal to you. We attempt to be as transparent as possible by posting our rates on our website or providing information when asked. I can only assume that the foreman may have been involved with your project but we see that you were surprised by this in your remarks and we agree that there was no reason why we should not have gone over this with you at the time of your call in advance of coming over. We wish you the best of luck to you with your project and hope in some small way that our efforts will have assisted you in a good final result. Janet O'Dea"
"Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. Angie's list tries to sell us advertising relentlessly and as an Angie's list subscriber you should know that the listings here are either paid - on top of the list or unpaid on the bottom of the list. We appreciate your review to show that even if you don't purchase from Angie, that you are still a worthwhile company."
"Thank you for taking the time to review us on Angie's list. We appreciate your business. I am glad that we were coherent at 1:30 AM!"
"[removed member name], Thanks for taking the time to post a review. It is no fun to have a plugged toilet. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you!"
Ours was an extensive remodel which required a lot of scheduled and unscheduled time on site. Robert was always on time when scheduled but more importantly he respond quickly when the unexpected occurred, very common on projects such as ours. He saved countless days of delays due to his rapid response.
There isn’t one member of the LB Powers Plumbing Company we have come in contact with we wouldn’t have in our home for dinner.
