Joe and his son and the crew did a great job. The job had a lot of detail and restrictions due to the nature and size of our property. They were on time, and on budget. There was a lot of excavation required around our home, and everything was cleaned up and left in good shape after the job was done. I would hire Joe and crew again

Scout Septic

Matthew and his crew were very knowledgeable and professional. They were very thorough in their inspection of my pressurized distribution septic system and prompt in their submission of the county-required report. A few weeks after the inspection, a power outage caused my system to quit working. Matthew came right out and had it working in a few minutes. I will definitely be using Scout Septic in the future for my annual inspection and any problems that might occur

These guys are the best. I was having a septic emergency, they moved their people around so that I could get same day service. When it became apparent that the job was going to be bigger than anticipated, they were very upfront with me about it. At one point there were four guys at working on my system because they were determined to get it working same day. All very professional and did a great job. Answered all of my questions and explained what was going on and why they were doing everything they did. All said and done, they improved the way my system is put together and made it easier to work on in the future which will inevitably, save me money. These guys have earned all my future business. Money well spent and to be honest while we going over the bill, they could have easily charged me more. These guys are the best. They advised me on upgrades that would have prevented this issue from happening again and were all around the best crew I have had work any part of my house and there have been several different crews for various projects

PDX Sewer Solutions, LLC

Outstanding. Rob worked day and night on an emergency sewer repair at my house. Located my private sewer line (which had never been located before, so that was hard). Found 2 places where pipe was broken. Fixed both. One under road pavement. Then b/c he was able to fix w/o having to actually dig into the pavement, price ended up being much less than estimate. Honest company that works hard. Highly recommend

What a GREAT company. I called Rob because the sewer line was plugged. He came out right away to unplug the line. He sent a camera through the line explaining to me what we were seeing, and discovered a section that was broken. He perfectly fixed the broken pipe and showed me before he covered it up. It works beautifully now. Rob and company are so hard working and precise. I thank you for taking such good care of our sewer. I highly recommend this company if you ever need sewer help of any kind. I would not hesitate to hire again. When my husband got home after Rob had completed the job he said he couldn't even tell he had been there! He took good care of my plants that had to be moved and replanted them at the end. Total satisfaction

"Excellent! Marty and his partner definitely know septic systems and how to evaluate their functioning level. We were very pleased and impressed with their knowledge, work ethic and the time they spent carefully checking every part of our system and explaining what they found to us. I will definitely use them again and tell neighbors as well. Several folks in my neighborhood tried going with the lowest bids on septic issues and all three had major repercussions! It pays to hire high quality people.

GRUMPY'S DRAINS HAS BEEN PORTLAND'S BEST DRAIN CLEANING COMPANY FOR 15 YEARS!---We only perform Drain Cleaning Services so no Plumbing Upselling!!---Local, Family Owned, Clean, Professional, On-Time, and Friendly!!
"Grumpy's Drains was the only company who could get us on their schedule within a week. A half hour before our appointment time, Keith called to let me know he was on his way and then showed up exactly on time. My husband had tried to snake the drains multiple times with no success. Keith was able to clean the clog out of the tub in less than 10 minutes (water balloon and hair clog). He then went to work on the pedestal sink. That was a much more difficult clog while working in a tight space. Keith was cheerful, funny and kind the entire time. The first clog cost a flat $178 and the additional drain was $88. It was money well spent and I would absolutely call on this company again in the future.

"The service was professional and efficient. We had been without hot water for months, all the other plumbers who came in and assessed the job told us they could not help or it was too complicated. Anton just said he liked a challenge and once the project was started it only took a few days. I would recommend Anton to anyone needing plumbing work. Our family is very grateful!

"This is my 4th or 5th time using Mr. Rooter of Portland. Each time I received a very high level of service, quality, and value. However I was remiss in submitting reviews. Friday afternoon at 1:30pm I called to request service to fix a water leak that had appeared on the wall side of the kitchen hot water cutoff valve. At 2:40pm I was notified that Brian was on his way. He arrived at 3:20. By 4:15 everything was fixed, cleaned up, and ship-shape. Brian provided an estimate to replace the offending cutoff valve, which I approved. He got right to work, and in the course of conversation we decided it was best to replace both 1970's era valves to avoid problems later. He did the work and honored his original estimate, basically charging me for one valve replacement instead of two. This is consistent with Mr. Rooter's other visits to my home. React fast, send a great person who happens to be an excellent plumber, quote a reasonable price, deliver more parts and service than expected, charge me the original quoted price. Over the last few years I've hired Mr. Rooter plumbers 4 or 5 times. Brian, Chris, and one other guy (sorry I forgot his name) all had the same helpful, professional, friendly attitude. All three got along well with my spazzy black lab. All three clearly explained the problems, possible solutions, and then delivered more service than expected. I will continue to hire Mr. Rooter for all my plumbing service needs.

"A sewer inspection was required as part of the sale process of the home. The buyers inspection indicated that there was blockage just outside of the house trap, although he could not get the camera through to verify. Black Rock was able to pass his camera through to the main connection; some 70' in length. He gave me an accurate estimate and scheduled work that same week.
The job was a bit more involved than initially anticipated. Corey handled the added complication very professionally. The
sewer line, which connected to the neighbor's line, before connecting to a right-of-way, passed under mature landscaping and hardscaping. Corey determined that the line had root intrusion in the neighbor's yard, just before the main connection. He was able to access the main connection by excavating with a small, and nimble backhoe, creating very little damage to the landscape in both yards. He then pulled a new liner through the existing sewer line and creating new connections. He replaced old, rotten sections of fence and repaired all grass areas. Corey took great care to do as little damage as possible to all grass and landscape by showing respect to the entire property. He is a very talented mechanic.

"Fixed the problem quickly, were very polite, and showed me how to fix it myself if it happens again. The leak was caused by a loose washer in the faucet handle."

"Work went great. They had to jackhammer into my basement floor and run a new line to replace the old sewer line. The team did so in terrible weather conditions and got us up and running as quickly as possible. They also cleaned and replaced everything as it was. I'd also like to mention that the gentleman that came out to quote was extremely professional and had solid answers to my questions. Also a solid cost. I spoke to reps with other companies during this process and none were as knowledgeable.
Whether you’ve had a septic tank for years or it’s your first one, you need to know how to live with one. This guide covers septic tank maintenance for a long-lasting system.
Replacing a drain field requires digging up quite a bit of land and involves a decent amount of testing. Using this guide, you’ll learn how much it costs to replace a drain field based on a few key factors such as size and type of septic system.
Septic tanks are a great way to treat wastewater in rural areas, but septic odor can be an unfortunate side effect of these systems. Learn more about the causes for the bad smell, including cracked pipes, dry drains, and other culprits.
Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.
How often should a septic tank be serviced?
Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.
What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?
Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.
How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?
Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.
How much does it cost to install a septic system?
Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.
How long does a septic system last?
Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
