"The CHW Tech was unable to connect the air condition to the Nest thermostat because it was not registering but he was able to provide us with cool air until the previous HVAC company was able to come and fix the system the next day. I had to pay the CHW Tech for the entire service but was reimbursed by the original company that installed the furnace because they knew that this was their error."

"I would shop around. I think I could have a shorter wait time between when they figured out what kind of repairs you need and when they actually approve the repairs and get somebody out there to do the installment. It's just a long lots of time in getting the job done."

"JLS was top-notch in initial contact. John left voice mail and an email reply for appointment. He was only one who left a contact number for after hours contact. He worked around my schedule and made sure the permits were properly filed with the corresponding municipalities. Once the permit's were done, he called to coordinate time for work to be done. He and his employee were respectful and professional. They constantly made sure I knew what their next step was and clarified the issues. The job was completed the same day, very clean and neat and professional installation."

"pretty basic-as described above; I only had half the deck done, this is an old deck and we are planning to replace it in a few years so I just wanted half done to see what I thought. Work was quick, service person friendly and professional.

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Any food that’s left out can potentially attract mice, but they especially like grains such as rice. Mice will also go after fruit, fatty foods like bacon, pasta, and cereal. Mice can also be attracted to garbage and compost bins if they’re left uncovered. The best way to prevent mice from getting to these areas is to keep food in hard-sided containers and cover garbage bins.

Some of the best smells for keeping squirrels away are those that have a spicy or pungent odor. This includes pepper, garlic powder, vinegar, mint, and coffee. Just be careful when handling cayenne or chili pepper. Don’t touch your face to prevent getting some in your eyes, and be sure to keep it away from children and pets.

No, pill bugs do not bite, and they do not transmit diseases. Pill bugs also don’t infest wood like carpenter ants or termites do, so they don’t pose a threat to your home either. In fact, pill bugs pose no threat to humans beyond stealing your veggies.

Termites are generally more destructive than carpenter ants, which is why it’s important to get rid of termites as quickly as possible. Termites will swarm your home to relentlessly feast on its wood frame, sheetrock, insulation, and carpet down to the studs.

While carpenter ants work surprisingly efficiently, they can still take years to damage your home significantly. It can also take termites several years to fully compromise a home's structure. However, the right colony can take down a full house in about a year. Overall, termites are far more diligent when it comes to destroying structures.

The best way to deal with a rodent problem is to avoid it in the first place. One way to do that is to make your home smell uninviting to them. Here are some household products that can repel rodents. When using oils, try soaking a cotton ball in the stuff and leaving it in places rodents frequent:

  • Peppermint oil

  • Eucalyptus oil

  • Cinnamon

  • Vinegar

  • Cedarwood

  • Cloves

  • Garlic

  • Chili oil/powder

  • Cayenne pepper
