"Neal installed a tricky downdraft replacement vent to our gas stove in August of 2021. I called him in February of 2022 to make a minor adjustment to the alignment; which he promptly did at no cost to us - excellent customer service."

"Several sections of our fence blew into the neighborâ s yard. They were able to come within a week to install temporary posts and put it back together so that you can hardly tell it was repaired, all for a reasonable price. I would definitely hire them again."

"We were about to have a major hurricane hit, and I needed a portable generator installed. No one would come out until after the storm. David Murphy came to my farm before the storm, assessed the situation and gave me the best option of how to get the job done. He installed a new Transfer switch in my garage, which enabled my well pump to operate to get water for my farm animals, my fridge to work, gave me lights in the kitchen and master bath & even a couple of outlets to use. The outlets allowed me to use the wifi so I could keep track of the storm. I had no idea any of those things would have been possible. He was extremely fairly priced which could have been 3 times as expensive due to the circumstances. He has done several jobs for me since. He’s an experienced plumber, drywaller, painter, built shelving & hung light fans. He’s a true Mr. Fix It! I highly recommend his services. He even comes to your house with a mobile workshop in a well appointed trailer. Thank Heavens him."

"Chebo is amazing the attention to detail and making sure everything was done right is clear when you are working with him. He went above and beyond on my job making sure everything was painted including the foundation and gas meter! He also did some repairs to some trim and a small section of siding in the prep work that look great. I bought new handsets and locks for all the doors and he even installed them after painting the doors. What is even more special about his company being a local family owned business is when he needed help from a crew on the big days it was his brothers that joined the project. Amazing work the house looks completely new. I am absolutely recommending his services to my friends, coworkers, and neighbors!!!!!"

"Rob was great. He actualy repaired a bathroom towel bar. I had hired two other individuals over the years and the repair never never was fixed. Rob found a stud and attached the bar to it. Patched the holes and painted. Very professional and friendly. Definitely would hire again."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

No. Removing the cause of concern will only lead to deeper concern. You cannot use any fire-powered appliance like a fireplace or furnace without an escape route for the smoke and fumes. If you remove the flue intending to repair or replace it, you should only use the fireplace, wood stove, or furnace once the flue is in working order. If you cannot replace the flue you have removed, call a chimney repair professional immediately.

No, but they both serve distinct life-saving purposes. Smoke detectors primarily sense the presence of smoke, typically caused by a fire, and emit loud alarms to alert occupants to evacuate. In contrast, carbon monoxide detectors monitor the levels of carbon monoxide gas, an odorless and colorless but deadly substance produced by incomplete combustion of fuels. When CO levels become dangerous, CO detectors sound alarms to warn inhabitants of potential poisoning risks.

A smoke alarm that beeps periodically, often every 30 to 60 seconds, usually indicates a low battery. The first step is to replace the battery. If this doesn't solve the problem, try resetting the alarm. However, beeping can also signal other issues, such as dust buildup in the sensors or the unit reaching the end of its life. Different beep patterns can mean different things; for example, multiple beeps might indicate an issue with a combination carbon monoxide detector, while a continuous, loud alarm means smoke has been detected. If a new battery doesn't stop the beeping, it's best to consult your alarm's manual, call a professional, or replace the unit.

DIY smoke detectors are possible, but professional installation ensures compliance with fire codes and optimal safety.

Chimney caps are necessary both from a building safety standpoint in most municipalities and to keep your home protected from a variety of issues. Chimney caps are not only mandated by building code in most areas, but they also serve to keep squirrels, raccoons, and other pests out of your home, as well as snow and rain. Therefore, they help to avoid property damage, making them a worthwhile investment.
