"They did a fabulous job of tuning up and fixing a more than 30-year-old gas fireplace, getting it up and running, and saving us the huge expense of having to get a new fireplace. They also installed a remote control and new fan control for the fireplace, despite how old it is. I would recommend the services of Refiners Fire Services very very highly."

"The work was better than expected. They had to build a couple retaining walls and even installed drains so there would be no standing water. They left my job cleaner than when they got there. The workers did a great job and we're very respectful."

"I used Bernard Masonry to install an external damper on our chimney. While the project had a couple of delays caused by our not standard chimney measurements and existing topper, Patrick handled it well and professionally and honored their quote. He and his crew were always on time for all appointments, which is so appreciated! He also followed up and let us know about some dry rot he saw. All in all, we're very pleased with the work and the company and would recommend."

"I hired System Pavers to replace my back lawn with a paver patio, including a gas fire pit and walkway. I couldnâ t be happier with the result. They were very professional, transparent, and easy to work with. Communication was very good throughout the process - any time a design decision or issue came up during the installation, they would reach out to me for input or confirmation, which I greatly appreciated. At one point during the installation, I sent a few questions to the project manager (Austin) via email at around 8pm on a Friday, not expecting to hear back until Monday. Austin called me within two minutes of sending the email! Thanks again to him and the hard working crew for their attention to detail and timely completion of the job. Highly recommended"

"It went fine. The chimney had become encrusted with moss and there were cracks in the cement on the crown. Also the flashing was rusting. Ryan ground off the old crown cement, applied new cement, pressure washed the chimney, installed new counter flashing and water seal. Now the chimney looks like new."

"We hired Robert and his team to completely reform our backyard after seeing his work on our neighbor’s backyard. After meeting with us for an initial consult, Robert developed a plan that integrated everything we wanted including more patio space, a hot tub lagoon, fire pit area, space for a shed, water feature, and a level yard area with new sod. They also did a great job planting three huge palm trees and several other privacy trees. Throughout the process Robert and his team were able to adapt to our wishes and new ideas. Team was great to work with, paid incredible attention to detail, and did great work! I’ve already recommended Robert and his team to several of my neighbors and will continue to recommend them to anybody who needs landscaping work done on their house."

Small jobs welcome

"A true perfectionist. Wonderful workmanship. Corrected errors of the original paver installers and added new square footage to my existing patio. Also leveled my hot tub with a color matching concrete pad. Wonderful workmanship and pleasant personality. Highly recommend Luna Masonary for any paver/masonary."

"They came out as scheduled and were able to complete the fence in about 3 days. It included setting posts in concrete and constructing the panels on site as well as two gates, one wider gate in line with outside gate for wheelbarrow entrance and the other narrower and on side close to sidewalk. They also installed wood boards under fence so critters including my dog are discouraged from digging under. Gates have nice latches including a wire loop on the inside to pull the latch open when exiting. I was very pleased with the result. They were respectful of the existing plants and raised bed rows taking care not to trample more than necessary."

FAQs for fire pit installation projects in Durham, OR

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The cost to remodel your fireplace is $1,200 on average. This cost can range from $400 to $2,000, depending on the extent of work needed.

If you add a hearth to your fireplace, you can expect to pay between $3 and $200 per square foot. However, if you're refacing your fireplace, the price tag will depend on your chosen materials. If choosing tile, you can pay between $1 and $50 per square foot, depending on the design. Stone is a more expensive material, averaging between $60 and $70 per square foot.
