"The folks at Premier Window Coverings are very professional.  On our initial visit to the shop, when we were not sure which type of window treatment would be best, they patiently led us through the possibilities, bringing out the strengths of weaknesses of each.
Even though we were not buying a houseful of blinds, they treated us with respect and courtesy.  When measurements were taken at the house, they were quick and accurate.  On the day of the measurements, due to our budget challenges at the time, we decided to reduce the number of windows that we were covering. There was no pressure or complain from Premier.
Our faux wood blinds are beautiful, and are of high quality for the price.  Other blinds we purchased at a big box home improvement store have given us trouble with cords getting stuck. etc   No problems with these!.

"had purchased this on a Deal. I moved my office to the in-law suite, and wanted something outside my norm - yet not too jarring. The decoraator is in Mass. We communicated via email, Pinterest., Houzz, their website and phone conference. I planned to reuse my light cherry office furniture, but needed to get rid of the white wall look. I sent photos of the room and a floor plan. I answered their online style questionaire and sent photo of the furnishing, my favorite Arts n Crafys desktop lamp and some of the art work I wanted to use. The result was a vibrant palate that is invigorating and joyful to work in. Using the colors from some paintings I collected in Africa15 years ago and my electric taste. the result was very bold. (Formerly my definition of bold was any color other than white or beige. The cair rail and lower walls are a terracotta with a rich deep gold on top. The remaining woodwork and doors are a dark slate gray with a satin finish. (Really - no white glossy woodwork.) I feel like I am in some exotic place when I work. I have met with other designers in the past. They ask your likes, then tell you what think regardless. Not so here, the process was interactive, two sided and balanced. The results are stunnung. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, even if no big deal is available.

"After selecting Crowley's as our counter top company we went to Elemar, which was one of their recommended suppliers. We are very happy with our selection. They were a delight to work with, we looked at lots of different slabs and they were happy to move pieces around so we could look at different ones. They brought lights around to see the slabs in different lights, and worked with us to find partial slabs so we could save in our budget. We found our favorite granite, Roma Imperial and they saved it for us. We brought tile samples over and tried different combinations. They were very helpful in our tile selection as well recommending things to look for and current trends. Ultimately we like the granite so much we used it as a backslash as well.

"I sent the money and dimensions in in November 2011.  She responded back very quickly, informed me that she was very busy and wouldn't be able to start on my project for a couple of weeks.  I actually responded that that was fine.  After a month or so with no contact, i emailed.  She emailed  right back, apologized and asked for some more measurements.  I sent them.  Didn't hear anything, when in response to inquiry, she asked again for living room measurements-- that was Feb. 3rd.  On Feb. 20th, I emailed and asked for timeline.  She responded back the next day with 3 designs asking for my preference.  I emailed back on the 22nd of Feb with my preference.  On March 16th, I inquired again as to timeline for completion. Two weeks later she sent a concept board with some furnishings.  No window coverings or lights were suggested.  Three were multiple rugs with no direction of which one for each room.  All and all, not a pleasant experience.  I suspect I could have gotten better service using Pottery Barn's free design service (especially since most of the furnishings came from there.)"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

If your lights are shorting out during rain storms or other winter events, you should probably replace them. These shorts indicate electrical issues that could cause serious hazards. Look for outdoor-rated lights with connectors made for rainy conditions to replace them. But if your Christmas lights are new and you want further protection, you can find weatherproof covers to add to the male-end connectors of your Christmas light strings. These can minimize the risk of shorts.

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, desk lamps, and antique or decorative light fixtures that hold sentimental or aesthetic value are commonly repaired.

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.

  • Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.

  • Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.

  • Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.

  • Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.

  • Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.
