"Our aerobic system needed to be pumped out quickly. They provided next day service at a reasonable price. They were on time and courteous. Things were a pretty big mess and they made good on their quote. I would recommend them to my friends."

"Most times (every 6 months) they do a great job servicing my areobic (sp?) system. There was a couple of times when I felt the tech really was uncertain of what they were doing, one time he a tech said I needed my system pumped when I had that done recently. I called and Red Dirt sent someone else out to check and found that was not the case (I already knew it was not so).
Other than that I feel they are a good company to do business with.
My only suggestion is that Red Dirt should provide the enzyme packs for the monthly treatment with customers that maintain an annual contract."

"A crew from Groundworks installed eight floor supports and encapsulated our crawl space last week. Jorge, Isaac, Kenny, Zacch, and Anthony did a great job! They worked very long hours to complete our project in a timely fashion and were great to interact with. They identified several plumbing and air duct problems and brought them to my attention. Jorge, the team leader, was great about communicating with me and keeping me well informed. The after job clean-up was very thorough. Jorge has been available by phone for my questions even after they have moved on to another job. These guys are very deserving of five stars. Also, I want to give a shout out to Anthony who did our inspection/estimate. He was very thorough and patient and made everything understandable. Another five-star guy!"

"I had a great experience with Spencer. He was very personable and explained my options in reference to fixing or replacing my water heater. Based on the issues I was having, I decided to replace the water heater. Spencer did a great job replacing the water heater and fixing the hot water outlet. He gave me a great price and I would gladly use his company again."

"I will be using this company for all my plumbing jobs. Bri was one of their staff that took everything to heart. She understood my issues and did the best she could to get things right. They were here fixing my outside faucet faster and completely done with an hour. Jason showed me the parts that were damaged and replaced them with new part. Great guy as he talked to me in a way that all customers need to be spoken to."

Small jobs welcome

"I can’t say enough good things about this company! I called about my water heater and they showed up the same day, within just a few hours. Rile took a look at it, and for some reason it just started working again. The best part? They refused to charge me anything. You don’t find that kind of honesty every day. Amazing customer service, and they’ll definitely be my go-to for anything plumbing related from now on. Thank you so much, Rile. You’re the best!"

"Justus Bath did an excellent job replacing our old tub, installing new shower tile, and raising the shower head. Their owner, Skyler, came out to give us the estimate and did a great job explaining all of our options and helping us pick the design that would fit our needs the best. The demo and installation team was professional and checked in with us several times throughout the project to make sure their work met our standards. On top of the excellent work, the pricing was very fair and worth every penny!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

A sump pump's lifespan is typically 7 to 10 years, though the general range can be anywhere from 5 to 15 years. The specific type of pump is a major factor: pedestal sump pumps last an average of 20 to 25 years, whereas submersible sump pumps last between 5 and 15 years. While pedestal pumps are less expensive to service, they are also louder and more prone to clogging.

Several other factors influence longevity, including the pump's quality, usage frequency, and maintenance schedule. A high-quality pump that is well-maintained in a dry climate may last for two decades, while a lower-quality, poorly maintained pump in an area with a high water table or frequent flooding may fail in six years or less.

Regular maintenance, including annual inspections and tuneups from a professional, can significantly extend the pump's life. It is time to consider a replacement if your sump pump runs constantly, cycles frequently, shows visible rust or corrosion, or trips a circuit breaker. As a preventative measure, many homeowners replace their pumps every eight years. It's also worth noting that a manufacturer's warranty can indicate expected lifespan, and some home insurance policies may not cover water damage from a pump that is past its recommended replacement date.

Submersible and pedestal sump pumps are two popular types of sump pumps. Submersible models are covered by water in a sump pit, which helps keep the motor cooler and quieter. Pedestal sump pumps stick out of the sump pit, so the motor stays dry and is easier to access. Submersible sump pumps are the pricier option, but they also have longer life spans.

The cost to repair a sump pump ranges from $400 to $550, depending on the extent of the repair and your location. Minor repairs, like fixing a switch or replacing a float, can cost just a few hundred dollars. However, more significant issues, such as motor replacement or addressing electrical problems, may cost closer to $550. Keep in mind that regular maintenance can help prevent costly repairs, and if a sump pump is beyond repair, a full system replacement ranges between $650 and $1,400.

DIY is possible for simple repairs. Professional services ensure proper diagnostics and long-term reliability.
