"After having 2 different vendors look at the roof and performed repairs, the roof still leaked. That's when I called Justin at Ridgid, he had done some HVAC work for me before. After doing the inspection of the roof, Justin and his team gave me detailed analysis of what was going on and what my options were. While the best option would be to replace the whole roof. Justin and his team were honest about the cost and offered to fix the issue first and see if held up. If it worked I could save some money. So they went ahead and fixed the roof. And voila had no issues after that. They were able to resolve the issue at a fraction of the cost for me. Highly recommend, straight forward and honest."

"Very precise workmanship. No scare tactics, just facts. Bob himself came to inspect the work before he declared it finished. I especially liked the speed with which they responded to my request for help. Bob even cut back some tree branches that were harming the roof before I told him he had the job. The workers are very clean about their site. When they left, there was not a trace of them, just a fixed roof."

"We decided to get our roof replaced by 1907 Roofing and couldn't be happier! Our previous roof was about 12 years old and there was an issue with a leak making its way into the interior of our home. The care and detail they put into doing a thorough inspection was truly incredible! When we called other roofing companies we were surprised how most of them didn't even take the time to inspect our roof. 1907 put in the extra time to provide helpful insight to what was really going on and what the next steps should be. They helped us get through the insurance claim process with ease and no stress! Great company! We will definitely recommend 1907 Roofing to all of our friends and family members who need help with their roofing project!"

"I had 4 roofing companies come out and gave me estimates for my roof. Jeremy was the only one who showed us the process of what he was going to do for our roof on his IPad. He showed pictures of all of the steps in the process for doing our roof. Explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions. He didn't try to sell his service to us, he showed us what his service is and will do! That's something all of the other 3 companies didn't do! What the other 3 did was say "We will save you a bunch of money"! Jeremy proved it to me, it's not about the money it's about doing the job right and doing the job professionally! I would highly recommend Jeremy and Wrightway Roofing!!!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Many insurance policies will not cover a roof with two layers of shingles. An additional layer of shingles increases the risk of various kinds of damage, and insurers typically won’t pay claims on a roof with an overlay. Adding a layer of shingles may even jeopardize your insurance coverage entirely, so check your policy to ensure you stay within coverage guidelines.

Most roof leaks occur where shingles meet or where there are sealants or seams in the materials. This is common around skylights and at any point there is a break in the roof such as corners and edges. Roofing materials are incredibly strong and resistant when overlapping, but any change in that can cause gaps where water can enter.

Stripping existing shingles and installing a new shingle roof takes a professional one to two days, and sometimes up to three days for larger roofs. Additional safety measures necessary for steep roofs can extend the timeframe even further, as do added measures, like replacing roof decking or reinforcing your roof structure to support heavier materials like slate or clay.

Yes, but it won't be as effective as installing it as part of a new roof because it won't be as water-resistant. However, a drip edge installed after the fact is better than no drip edge at all.

If your roof is nearing the 20-year mark in age, you probably should start worrying about the roof’s longevity. If you don’t know the age, it may be time to figure out who installed your roof, so you can estimate the age accurately. You then can make plans to pay for the upcoming roof replacement. You also can learn how to inspect a roof yourself to look for signs of damage that may indicate a need for a replacement.
