"the job took to long, was not properly cleaned up and I think the price was to high. It took 3 days to finish a 1 day job and caulking was left inside and all over my water hose and wall outside. It took over 2 hours to clean up and there is still dried up caulk inside the utility closet and the outside wall. The person doing the job could hardly walk said he had pain in his leg and said he could not bend down. He did not have any thing to clean up the mess ( rags, vacuum, etc ). There are globs of caulking in the utility closet and he could not sand all of it. This was a poor job overall and with the mess left I really feel there should be some kind of refund for this job. This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly. 

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

Plastering comes at a higher cost than installing drywall, but it also provides some pretty enticing benefits. First, plaster usually lasts longer than drywall, so long-term costs will usually be lower. Second, plaster is a highly insulative material, so it might help make your living area feel more comfortable and keep your heating and cooling costs lower, especially in the summer and winter. Finally, plastering is naturally textured, so it helps hide imperfections and often adds warmth to your home that drywall won’t.

Whether you can repair or install plaster yourself depends on the project size and your tolerance for DIY projects. You may feel perfectly comfortable taking on a small plaster repair project, but prefer to leave a room restoration or renovation to a local plaster repair professional.

Since the project's end result, including its durability and appearance, depend on how well you prepare the wall and apply the plaster, you may want to let a professional take it on if you're not 100% confident.

Venetian plaster is very easy to maintain. As long as your plaster is properly sealed, you can safely wipe it down with water and mild soap to remove any scuffs or stains. And if your plaster wall cracks or chips, you can often simply patch it rather than replastering the whole wall to restore its appearance.
