"Last year I wanted to install a new digital thermostat in my house. I bought the thermostat I wanted from Amazon. I called Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer to see if they could do this under a Groupon offer. They said they could, so I bought a Groupon For Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer for a service call plus one hour of labor. When I called back to make the appointment with Sal's, they said there would be an additional several hundred dollar charge for the thermostat. This was not revealed on the initial call. needless to say, I used a different company. But, I was still stuck with a Groupon that I could not use. So, last week a laundry drain backed up and I thought I would use the Groupon for Sal's. I called Sal's to see if they would honor the Groupon and would be able to do the job. They said yes and yes. When the technician got to the house, he said it would be an additional $350 to clean the drain. Sal's said the Groupon was good only for a house call and 1 hour of troubleshooting. The Groupon says o1 hour of labor. I will never use Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer company for anything. I would recommend you NEVER use Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer for any reason. They are unscrupulous at best!"

"I emailed Torpedo Heat several times about the problems that I was having with a heater that I had purchased used from someone. He emailed back and gave some suggestions on what to do, I explained to him I had seen his you tube videos and was still having problems. I called him and described what was happening with my heater, explained that everything he told me to do worked for the first few cycles of the heater then it started to malfunction again. He explained to me the heater I had was a very old heater and that most of the parts were not available any more. I explained that I had bought parts online from other sources, then he figured out over the phone after I told him what parts I purchased. That the parts were indeed the wrong parts for my heater, they look the same but were not compatible with my heater(I should have him first). Torpedo Heat is a very knowledgeable about these heaters, in my gut I knew he was the right man to fix my heater. He is an honest man and cares about doing right by his customers, anyone who needs to have a heater worked on parts ordered or bought through him he will more than gladly help you out. Heat pump systems are different because they provide heating and cooling solutions for your home. In this case, you should have it serviced at least twice a year.

You need to service an HVAC system about twice per year, with a service including an inspection and basic maintenance. It’s best to schedule maintenance in the spring (after the furnace has been running and before the AC kicks on) and in the fall (after the AC worked hard all summer and before winter’s first chill arrives). 

Regular HVAC services will keep the system working as efficiently as possible, saving you money on utilities and larger repairs. HVAC maintenance costs around $250 per visit, while bigger repairs from forgotten upkeep could cost thousands.
