"Sergio from GS Drywall did an excellent job. He came on time, did a very good job. Left the area very clean. Sergio is a really nice person who I highly recommend. If I would ever need another drywall job done, he is the only person I would call."

Small jobs welcome

"Alex and his crew did a great job. We had a bedroom ceiling completely colaspe due to a crack they were already coming to repair. When I removed the ceiling fan the whole ceiling fell to the floor. They showed up as scheduled and dove right in protecting the rest of the house with plastic to start removing all the trash and blown in insulation. By noon that day the new drywall was installed and ready to finish. GREAT JOB GUYS!"

"Christian responded the same day to my request for a free quote on our drywall project. He sent out his specialist, J.D., three days later to look at the damaged area. The following Wednesday J.D. completed a flawless repair in two hours. He created a smooth surface without any sanding and no dust, then vacuumed the area when he was done. Speedy Drywall Repair does excellent work, plus they are personable and professional. We will call them again with any drywall needs in the future."

"All Pros Construction handled our drywall installation and the space came together exactly how we hoped. The panels were hung neatly, seams were finished smoothly, and everything was left ready for paint. The job stayed on schedule and the work area was kept under control. Reliable, solid drywall work from start to finish."

Small jobs welcome

"Small drywall project. 35 sq ft ceiling (textured) 12 sq ft wall (flat). Biggest challenge was to texture ceiling across two rooms where wall was taken out. Scott blended this in such that you would at first glance assume it was original. Scott and his wife are very professional and respect your property and tidy up better than it was when starting. They arrived at appointed times and did good work. I was impressed with prompt start and consecutive days finishing. It's never a one day job but Scott minimized project duration. Obviously I have to wait 36 hours before painting the masterpiece. Looking forward to seeing the true finished project when painted. I would hire Scott again for next drywall project."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals often repair minor wall openings made for insulation injection to restore the surface.

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.

There are a few ways to figure out if your walls are plaster or drywall, but the pushpin method is probably the easiest option. To try it, choose a part of your wall where you can insert a pushpin or thumbtack without leaving an obvious mark. If it goes in easily, you have drywall. But if the wall is tough to penetrate, that’s plaster.

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.

It’s not a good idea to plaster over broken plaster (unless by broken you’re referring to cracked, in which case that’s perfectly fine). However, broken plaster can be a sign of a larger underlying issue like foundation damage or severe damage to the lath holding up the plaster, so it’s worth investigating before you simply plaster on top of the damage.
