"Sergio from GS Drywall did an excellent job. He came on time, did a very good job. Left the area very clean. Sergio is a really nice person who I highly recommend. If I would ever need another drywall job done, he is the only person I would call."

"Davor is excellent in all aspects of his business. He is prompt, courteous and great communication. His work is top quality as he did plaster repair in the Livingroom and drywall repair in the garage for my home. His pricing was reasonable. I am very satisfied, and would highly recommend him to anyone needing plaster or drywall work done."

"Christian responded the same day to my request for a free quote on our drywall project. He sent out his specialist, J.D., three days later to look at the damaged area. The following Wednesday J.D. completed a flawless repair in two hours. He created a smooth surface without any sanding and no dust, then vacuumed the area when he was done. Speedy Drywall Repair does excellent work, plus they are personable and professional. We will call them again with any drywall needs in the future."

"He brought all of his equipment and had it ready to go in a prompt manner. Didn't have to run and grab anything else, which I believe is very professional. I would have liked to have a drop cloth laid down before we did the exterior painting, but not a whole lot of damage was done. He cleaned up after himself, unlike other contractors I have used in the past."

"Did a great job with some framing and drywall. Looks great even before sanding (they’re coming back tomorrow to sand it). Seriously, it’s near perfect before sanding. Incredibly pleased. They were reasonably priced and did excellent quality work. Plus, they were polite and courteous."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You should always hang drywall from the top down. Starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight, tight line between the ceiling and the wall. Any gaps that occur will be at the bottom, where they are easier to manage. You can either cut the bottom piece of drywall to fit the remaining space or cover the gap with baseboard trim. Additionally, starting at the top is physically easier, as you won't have to fit the top sheet into a tight space between the lower sheet and the ceiling, or try to balance the upper sheets on the lower ones while securing them.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

Yes, it is possible to rewire a house without removing the drywall, but this doesn’t work in all homes. You can pull out old wires and insert new ones if you have access to the wiring system via the ceiling or through a crawl space. Some pros can also use a magnetic kit to fish the old wire out of the wall through a hole cavity and install the new wires. Just keep in mind that doing this is less stable than removing drywall, as you won’t be able to staple the wires into the framing.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.
