"I worked with Jesse and he was top-notch. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I found that all my questions were answered and my expectations were met. My husband and I were pleased with the installation process and the clean-up afterwards. I will be recommending this company to all my family and friends should they warrant radon testing/ mitigation."

"To the folks at Radon Be Gone and potential customers, Lengthy-but hopefully insightful Recently I learned that radon was present in my house and the intelligent thing to do is to have it mitigated. This occurred at the onset of the pandemic and the Governor's briefings and closures. I had read plenty of positive reviews about Radon Be Gone and they came personally recommended from a couple people I trust. At the time Radon Be Gone was not operating until they felt they had a great grasp of safety protocols for their staff and customers. I did have a few other companies come out, take a look, and provide a quote but my gut told me to wait if possible for Radon Be Gone to be operational. I spoke to Portia several times and she was very knowledgeable, reassuring, and answered a lot of questions I had, now that I had some time to learn about the gas itself and how companies mitigate it. Brad came out and did an honest assessment and again answered a host of questions. Due to previous reviews, their treatment of me, and the similar price to other companies, I chose Radon Be Gone. I was a bit nervous because I had finished the basement a couple years prior. For anyone that plans to finish their basement, check for Radon first. You have less options once you finish it. The day the job was to be completed, the vehicles were in my drive a few minutes early, which I liked. The guys: Larry, Walker and Ian were all very cooperative and professional. I was able to watch and learn without feeling like I was snooping. The holes in my side brick and facial wall and the foundation were precision. We couldn't have picked a better spot for the system. It is unobtrusive in the utility room and is not visible from the sides of the house that matter. They explained the system and how it works and some small other need to know items. They caulked all the exterior hardware and sealed and cleaned everything. For those of you that may be concerned about their Covid safety protocols- I was very comfortable with how they operated. Post installation of the equipment, they retested the Radon Levels in my house and I was not only under the accepted level, but significantly under. The report of the test and other details were provided in a very timely manner. As a matter of fact the gentleman, forgot his name, (sorry) text me the results immediately. I know this is probably a lengthy post, but hope it provides useful insight and my recommendation of using Radon Be Gone if you need to have Radon Mitigation."

"Quick install, easily mitigated the issue. Non-invasive install, cannot even tell it is in the basement, also ran the exterior piping along the downspout. 5 stars, could not recommend Tom enough if you need radon mitigation."

"Appeared very knowledgeable regarding the problem I was having. Was on time and went right to work.. At this point I am very pleased with the results due to seeing less dust in the air and on furniture. The big test will come once I turn the furnace on this fall. I was informed to call them back if their was a problem. Again very pleased with their work at this time"

"Absolutely professional. Tyler came out exactly on time. His co worker/partner set everything up and explained the process and worked with our schedule. Pricing was VERY affordable and for a job done exceptionally well and clean. I reccomend getting the levels tested in your basement as over time this can be detrimental to ones health. If we have any issues in the future, I will be using Ohio Radon Specialists for all of our mitigation needs."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.

No, radon mitigation systems do not decrease home value or make a home harder to sell. In areas where homes experience similar radon exposure risks, a radon mitigation system is viewed as an improvement. Potential homebuyers often opt to buy a home with a radon mitigation system already installed to reduce the risk of cancer for their families.

The cost for a radon mitigation system typically ranges from $800 to $1,500, with an average around $1,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the severity of the radon issue, and the type of system required. Your home's foundation type also significantly impacts the cost. For example, sealing and ventilating an unfinished basement might cost around $4,600, while encapsulating a crawl space without a foundation slab can range from $1,500 to $15,000.
