"Sean and his team did an amazing job installing our new cedar fence. They removed our old one and cleaned up after the new one. The fence is beautiful. They were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend!"

"He was very knowledgeable, very professional and comfortable to talk to. I don't like projects and the hassles, but Pedro relaxed me with his assurance that I am making the right choice with Ergeon. He covered all my questions about this project and promptly sent the information that I need to get this project going. Thank you Pedro!"

"Chris was excellent! I highly recommend. We had a problem with our front door, literally for years. It continued to get worse and worse until it became a real problem. Chris and I diagnosed the problem, and Chris fixed it beautifully. It is such a pleasure to have our door work as it did when it was installed. He was prompt and went above and beyond. I will definbitely utilize Chris in the future"

Small jobs welcome

"Monthly Upkeep sent a top notch team out to install a 16' custom made wall mural at our new condo. They guys (Chris & Ryan) were outstanding to work with. They showed up on time, were professional in every way, neat, cleaned up as if they were never there and did a great job installing the mural - looks fantastic. I was a little leery at first due to cost estimate, but once it was done, I realized that the investment I made in the custom work was in great hands and was properly installed. Labor was a tad pricey but really worth it. I've already booked Monthly Upkeep for another job and I highly recommend them."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Silt fences are very effective when installed correctly and used in proper locations. However, there are places where they don’t work as well. This includes property with a concentrated water flow, where runoff could pool or cause a flooding hazard. You’ll also want to use caution when installing in areas susceptible to landslides. Your contractor will follow state guidelines and know when an alternate solution is more effective.

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

Regular maintenance for wire fencing includes annual inspections for rust or damage, tension adjustments every two to three years, and immediate repair of any breaks or loose sections. You should also regularly check the fence posts for stability, particularly after severe weather, and make sure to remove any vegetation growing along the fence line.

Who pays for a new fence between neighbors depends on its location relative to the property line. If you build the fence entirely on your property, you are solely responsible for the costs of installation, maintenance, and repair. If the fence is built directly on the property line, both neighbors are typically responsible for the costs. In this case, it is essential to consult with your neighbor beforehand to agree on a plan for payment. While you should always inform your neighbor of your plans in advance, you generally cannot force them to contribute financially unless there are specific local laws, such as in California, where both parties might be responsible for costs unless a different agreement exists. It's a good idea to get a property line survey to know the exact boundaries before building.

Installing an aluminum fence typically takes one to three days, depending on the fence's size, layout complexity, and site conditions. Simple, straight-line installations may take just a day, while larger or more intricate designs with slopes or obstacles can extend the timeline. Professional contractors often complete the job faster than DIY installations.
