"Mike and his crew were fantastic. Mike explained exactly how they would install the outlets for my new bidets, how long the installation would take and his price was very reasonable. We were especially happy that we only needed one contractor to handle the job since bidet installation requires an electrician and a plumber. When Don and Bob arrived for the job, they were very professional, very personable and cleaned up after the job! Knowing how hard it is to find experienced professionals, we were very pleased with the service and plan to use United Plumbing and Electric in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"James did an outstanding job. He contacted me 15 minutes after he received my information from Angi. We set up a time and he arrived 30 minutes after we talked on the phone. He provided me a quote. I hired him and also had him do other work while he was there. He replaced my water heater, replaced outside facet, plus a couple of minor things that he found. He completed everything to perfection within 4 hour of me submitting my request. James was very professional,, very affordable, and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction. I have added James to my list of experts to call and he #1 on my plumbers list now. I would definitely hire again."

"I hired this company to do something my husband could have done. We needed a professional plumber because the work was done on a house we were selling and the buyers insisted. The plumber was polite, punctual and did a good job on the inspection items. I would use him again."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Your foundation type plays a major role in plumbing updates. Slab foundations make drain modifications complex, requiring concrete removal to access pipes. In older Springboro neighborhoods, existing galvanized steel or polybutylene pipes require complete replacement. Additionally, local clay soils shift and stress buried sewer lines over time. Multi-story layouts also demand careful planning around shared drain stacks and venting systems.

Helpful?

Start by securing local permits for your plumbing project, as Springboro requires them for anything beyond simple repairs. Verify your local contractor holds an active OH plumbing license to keep the work compliant. Schedule outdoor work between late spring and early fall to avoid frozen ground. Finally, coordinate with city officials before touching main water or sewer lines.

Helpful?

Updating your plumbing directly boosts buyer confidence in the competitive Springboro real estate market. Buyers and inspectors specifically look for modern pipes, so replacing older galvanized steel or polybutylene lines adds significant appeal. Always secure proper local permits for these upgrades. Documented, permitted work supports positive state disclosures and ensures a smoother appraisal process when selling your OH home.

Helpful?

Proceeding without local permits creates major liability and inspection failures. Hiring an unlicensed contractor violates state law and voids those permits. Homeowners also fail to protect exposed pipes from freezing temperatures during cold Springboro winters. For exterior plumbing, ignoring the seasonal shifting of local OH clay soils leads to recurring sewer line damage. Always notify city officials before modifying municipal connections.

Helpful?

Homes built in the 1980s and 1990s are prime candidates for plumbing upgrades, as supply lines and water heaters begin showing age-related wear. Hard water throughout OH causes mineral buildup in fixtures and pipes, signaling a need for replacement. A documented history of water damage or repeated repairs also indicates your home requires a comprehensive system evaluation and upgrade.
