"I am happy with the job that was done. They did a full basement remodel. Added a full bathroom to my first floor. Put new flooring down on the first floor and turned a half bath into a closet."

"We have been totally satisfied with our experience with Bath Expo. From the people in the store, to our sales person Jack Wise. The installers were so efficient and respectful of our home. Jeff C. And Joe G were so careful of our home as the walked through doing their jobs. They cleaned everything up and left the house just as they found it. We would recommend Bath Expo to all that are interested in remodeling their bathroom."

"We almost had a company install an acrylic shower, we decided to make an appointment with Fast bath and I’m glad we did! Scott showed up and walk us through everything with patience. We also loved the solid surface product much better than acrylic. Our install was done by the owners Rich,Chip and Keo. The Install was flawless in my opinion, everything was cleaned up and they were done by 4ish. I highly recommend this company from start to finish. Thank you Fast bath solutions for a beautiful shower."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

The most common room to remodel is the kitchen, which is unsurprising, as it’s one of the rooms we live in and rely on the most. Bathrooms come in second for similar reasons. Bedrooms, including primary suites, are close behind bathrooms, followed by living room upgrades that can include changing the floor plan to add space or make it more useful.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

In general, the term powder room refers to the same thing as the term half bath and describes a bathroom with a toilet and a sink. Usually, the official term used in real estate listings is a powder room, but the two terms are interchangeable.

You can add a bathroom almost anywhere in a house, but location, space, and existing plumbing and electrical setups are major factors that impact price. Running plumbing and electrical to your new bathroom can become costly, so think strategically about where to add them. You’ll need a big enough space with plenty of ventilation and outlets to accommodate the bathroom you’re envisioning.

Common shower pan sizes are 30-by-30 inches and 42-by-32 inches, or you might want a contemporary, clean-lined 60-by-42-inch walk-in. When selecting the size and location of your custom shower, consider the other bathroom fittings, whether the shower door can open easily, and whether you’ll have to alter plumbing.
