"JBL Concrete did a fantastic job for me. They removed & replaced my existing driveway & front sidewalk. The pricing was competitive but if I had know what a professional, over-the-top job they were going to do, pricing would not have been an issue. These are folks you can trust. All of these guys knew exactly what they were doing, extremely professional, courteous, and willing to go beyond what was expected. No nickel and diming, no shoddy work, great clean-up, but most importantly a really excellent finished drive and stamped sidewalk. You need to see it to appreciate it."

"I just needed a small driveway pad poured for added parking. I got a quick quote, good service. I thought the price was fair. Excellent workmanship. I especially liked how he worked with my wife to ensure the transition of the new pad looked good with the existing concrete. It exceeded our expectations. I recommend Your Concrete and certainly would use them again."

"Dennis Duffy provided me with a call back and a quote within one day after my message to West Park Asphalt Maintenance. He was able to start the work in less than one week and finish within 2 to 3 hours, once I accepted his quote. I feel they did a fantastic job. Dennis did everything I asked to be done, such as remove the old asphalt and enlarge the size of the new apron. My pricing covered a 4 " thickness rather than the normal 3 " thickness for an apron.
I felt his price was on the high side but I had no other quotes for comparison. I'm sure Dennis knows that most companies will concentrate on complete driveways rather than an apron only. I'm very happy with their work and the final outcome. I also received a $ 50 discount when I inquired on his 5 % discount through Angie's List, dropping my price from $1275 to $1225.
As a matter of information, I also contacted Holland Paving and M.J. Griffith Paving for quotes before calling West Park Asphalt. Both companies said they would be out within the week. I never heard from Holland Paving. A representative from M.J. Griffith came out to my house the first day after West Park finished my apron. They even drove over the new apron, then called me by telephone to say they are out to give me a quote for a new apron. I told them it was completed already and they confirmed completion and the nice work. The time frame from my initial call for a quote and their arrival was over 2 1/2 weeks.
Both Holland Paving and M.J. Griffith Paving had an A rating by Angie's list when I found them on your website about 4 weeks ago.

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.

If your concrete stains are green in color, it indicates the presence of mold or algae—which you should address right away. If left unattended, mold will spread to other areas throughout the home. However, be careful not to disturb mold on indoor concrete surfaces and work with a local mold remediation specialist for specialized care. Once free from mold and algae, seal your concrete to eliminate pores and gaps.

The average cost to pressure wash a house is around $310, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $420. However, the total cost can vary widely, from $200 to $750. Power washing, which uses heated water, may cost between $250 and $400 per project, with an average of $200 to $300 for a 2,000-square-foot home.

Key factors that influence the final price include:

  • The size and height of the house (a multi-level home costs more than a single-story one).

  • The complexity of the job and accessibility of certain areas.

  • Geographic location.

  • Equipment and hourly labor costs.

Hiring a professional is often recommended as they bring their own equipment and cleaning solutions. Experienced professionals know how to complete the job effectively without causing damage to your siding, gutters, or landscaping, which can be a risk with high-powered water jets.

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where you store it. If you can keep it in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, if the machine will be stored in freezing temperatures, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage. To prevent this, add antifreeze to keep it in good condition. While some suggest emptying the machine with compressed air, this can be a tedious process that may not fully drain the liquid. Regardless of storage conditions, it is also good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before winter storage.

For pressure washing a driveway, a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 2,000 and 3,000 is recommended for both concrete and asphalt surfaces. A pressure of 3,000 PSI is ideal for deep cleaning without causing damage, effectively removing debris, dirt stains, and even oil spills. If your pressure washer has a lower PSI rating, you can still use it, but the cleaning process will take longer. For a more efficient and even clean, consider using a surface cleaner attachment.
