"OK, long review here, but Tree Images totally deserves it! Their crew recently did an AMAZING job taking out and trimming 3 large trees in my barely accessible backyard. If I could give this company more than 5 stars, I’d give them an 11 on a scale of 10. From my first phone call to Eric to schedule their estimator Tony’s visit, to the actual hard work by crew leader Joey and his team Scott, Kevin, Francisco, and Rogelio, this company is a TOTAL class act –everyone I dealt with was professional and knowledgeable, willing to answer all my questions, skillful, efficient and thorough…..plus personable and friendly on top of all of that : ) In the past I’d had bad experiences with tree companies’ work and billing practices, so I asked friends and neighbors for their recommendations. Tree Images got highest recommendation from a friend who had hired them to take down trees in very tight spaces. Some other companies wouldn’t even quote me when they saw the extremely narrow path between my house and my neighbor’s home, said they couldn’t get any equipment in. But Tree Images brought in an awesome piece of machinery, an impressive Spider Lift that was narrow enough to squeeze between houses and access my backyard (see my pics). The crew was so efficient and skillful that the job was completed, even down to a beautiful clean-up, in a little less than 5 hours. Team leader Joey and his crew were just fascinating to watch – an extremely well-practiced team, all in perfect sync with one another, doing the hard work efficiently and safely. And they were VERY careful to protect small understory plantings from the Spider and from the roped limbs coming down, as well as protecting my neighbor’s lawn with plywood sheets laid down for moving the 3+ ton Spider between houses. A MOST EXCELLENT job and all for a VERY REASONABLE COST, with no billing surprises….I was charged the same amount as Tony’s estimate. Tree images will most def be my go-to team for any future tree service…an EXCEPTIONAL experience, and I've already recommended Tree Images to friends and neighbors. MANY THANKS, guys!"

"Adam showed up to look at the job right on time. I had 3 very large tall trees that needed to fall he looked very confident that it would not be a problem. We estimated the tree were close to 100 ft tall.Gave me a reasonable price. Set a date. He showed up right on time him and his brother got out some very nice gear and went to work. All 3 of these trees would have easily took out my house. They climbed the trees and hooked up rigging and carefully cut the tops out of these trees and then dropped them right where they planned. It was awesome. They were a pleasure to work with. I can not say anything bad. I am very satisfied and would recommend pro landscape services to everyone. David Horn"

Customers say: Quick response

"Doug came out to give the bid in a timely manner and informed me if he was going to be on time or running early. I was out of town for a funeral when the work was performed but when I returned home I was pleasantly surprised that not only were the stumps removed but the clean up was meticulous and my neighbors were extremely happy as well! Iâ d highly suggest him to remove any tree stumps necessary."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.
