We had had work on these trees done before, but not by an arborist. Tod from Sherdec was the first to tell us what was really wrong with the trees and to come up with a good plan for treating them. They removed tremendous amounts of dead wood, provided fertilizer, and cleaned up completely.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.

It can take anywhere from one month to a couple of years for tree roots to grow back in sewer lines. Tree roots can cause extreme havoc on your sewer lines, potentially cracking them and causing untreated wastewater to make its way into the groundwater. Have a landscaping pro remove trees and roots before installing your system, or call a pro to do it retroactively as soon as you can.
