Fantastic! We have a huge Pear Tree in our front yard that was struck by lightening. We lost half of our tree - it fell onto our neighbor's driveway. Spartek came right away and took care of everything, including the cleanup, in a professional and timely manner.

They were very professional. Arrived on time, did all the work listed on the estimate, cleaned up the area. Did a great job.

The crew arrived 9:45 am and every thing was cleaned up and loaded by noon. No lawn damage. Clean up was great. Really nice people. Would definitely recommend Spartek.

If in need of tree service, VERIFY INSURANCE COVERAGE. Sorry for yelling, but I called seven of the closest tree services here on Angie's List and they all claimed to be fully insured. Only Spartek and one other were, when I tried to verify. This deception is endemic in the tree service industry. You might even be shown certificates of coverage, but they're not proof of coverage until verified because policies lapse, yet unscrupulous operators will still show them and they're bidding jobs against companies doing the right thing. This is unfair because being properly insured costs a ton of dough. A tree service needs two insurance policies to protect you. A workman's compensation policy and a general liability policy. They're required by state law with only casual enforcement. The former protects you if a worker gets injured, and the latter protects your property and your neighbor's property if a tree or limb falls the wrong way. Lacking either, you the homeowner are on the hook financially if something goes wrong. To verify workman's comp coverage in Ohio you can go to [*** Link removed ***] or call 1-800-644-6292. General liability policies are with private companies, so you have to call the phone number on the policy certificate to verify. The insurer won't mind talking to you because that's their business. This is true for anyone working on your house, contractors, roofers, etc. Here's another thing. I've lived here ten years and had a lot of tree work done, and have seen the good, bad, and the ugly. Under "ugly" I'd have to add claiming to be a certified arborist when not. Patrick Boggess is the real deal. [*** Link removed ***] We had an especially wet summer which made job timing difficult, however Brandy Boggess did a great job staying in touch for a dry soil day that would prevent rutting or undue soil compaction of healthy existing tree root systems. Once the right day arrived, Patrick Boggess and his team of six men showed up right on time and brought their equipment in carefully, using 4x8 plywood planks under the crane bucket truck wheels for areas that were still soft, or over septic leach field sections. They brought down the trees without any damage to the fence only 10' away from the job, ground the stumps, and left with the least impact on my yard as feasible given the operation. Spartek is a small company, however their investment in equipment for this job wasn't lacking. Besides their bucket truck they brought a monster wood chipper, a Bobcat mini skid-loader with tracks for moving trunk sections, three haul trucks, and a hydraulically controlled stump grinder. Spartek is probably as good as this gets, and their pricing was lower than the company I'd been using for years based upon false claims of insurance and ISA certification, until I wised up. Highly recommended.

It went very well! Very professional and very thorough! Did a great job and left the area very clean and picked up, including our neighbors' lawns into which some of the trees and branches had fallen. They had been used by a neighbor who was very satisfied and we contracted with them without any competitive bidding (other than stop by and knock on the door folks). They may be more expensive than other providers but, regardless, I would go with them again based on the quality and professionalism and the ease of working with them. 100% satisfied!

We received several estimates, Spartek's was the most reasonable. Pat is a really nice guy, very friendly and professional. The job was done over a 2 day period.

Pat communicated with us during the job and was very accommodating. He ended up removing 2 additional trees at our request. He and his crew were punctual, professional and hard working. When the job was finished, they thoroughly cleaned up all the debris. Highly recommend and would definitely use again in the future if necessary.

Called Mr. Patrick Boggess told him what the job was, we could not make it to the house, Patrick went out to the house wrote out the estimate, called to give us the estimate and left a written estimate. We agreed to the price and set up the date for 8-28-2013. Crew showed up on time very professional, clean up after the job was done and left the yard 1000% time better than what it was. You would never know that they where their. If anyone would have seen that yard and the tree's before his crew started , like my wife almost drove by the house she did not even recognize it. that is how great a job Patrick Boggess and his crew did.

Promptly returned our call and set up appt. to come to our home to assess the work the next day. Pat Boggess (owner) called when he was going to be 15 minutes late for the appraisal (very impressive!). He was able to schedule the work in a few days -- even though he had scheduled clients' work for the next few weeks. Pat showed up on time with his crew and the proper equipment, including lift trucks, chippers and all of the extraneous equipment needed to prune trees. He was very careful of our landscaping when moving the heavy trucks into the yard. He and his crew were very professional in their work as they pruned heavy, high-up large branches from tall trees. The branches were immediately run through the chipper, leaving the work area clean. The large trees, that needed removal, required careful cutting using a high-lift bucket. Even though one broken tree was leaning heavily into the branches of 2 other trees, they were able to remove the tree without causing any additional damage to the 2 surrounding trees. When they left the area, all the branches and debris had been cleaned up, and the area returned to a usable state.







Pat had many suggestions on how the trees should be pruned to improve their growth and appearance. We were set-back by the lack of OTHER tree services not returning our calls, but Pat and his crew has renewed our faith in tree services. He runs a 5 star operation, and we will definitely use him again.

The Spartek workers arrived at the appointed time, pruned the selected large Pin Oak trees, collected and hauled away all debris. They also removed a small dying tree at the back treeline and a medium sized unkempt spruce tree in the front year while they were cleaning up the property. We had previously discussed the spruce being removed, but they asked my wife about the small tree in the back while they were pruning the oaks.
Workers were polite, courteous, and conscientious. They attempted to relocate a bird nest and they found a place to re-hang a bird house which had lost its limb.
We have an Ash tree that will probably be removed this coming summer. Based on our experience with SPARTEK, when the time comes, we will be repeat customers.

The weekend before New Year's Eve a tree fell against our garage roof--a
LARGE tree. We could still drive in and out of the garage, but we knew
we had to get it taken care of soon--despite the holiday.
We called Spartek Monday afternoon (New Year's Eve), and he called us back
as soon as he got the message. He came by the next morning (New Year's
Day!) at 10 am to look the problem over and gave us an estimate. He was
very personable and helpful. A second estimate from another company
later in the day was $500 more, so we chose Spartek.
The crew arrived the next day and began working on the very complex
situation--they essentially had to raise the tree before beginning to
cut to keep from doing damage to the roof/walls of the house. They were
very careful and constantly reassured me about the state of the roof
(miraculously, no hole or other significant damage!). All of the crew were extremely pleasant.
They finished the job by late afternoon, including clearing up all the debris, cutting up the tree, and hauling it away.
Spartek was prompt, efficient, friendly, and thorough, as well as being reasonably priced. I will certainly use them in the future.

During one of the storms we had last July, the top half of a pine tree fell and ended up leaning against my roof. I had gotten an estimate from another tree company that I have used three or four times in the past (and submitted a report on in 2008). I knew they were backed up with storm damage (we had more storms the next week) so I didn't expect them to show up for a while. I finally called them, and the owner had forgotten but promised to send a crew the following week. They never showed up. Last Saturday, I saw some of the guys from Spartek working down the street and gave them my information to give to the owner. Pat came out later that afternoon, gave me an estimate for the removal of the entire tree and also pruning a Bradford Pear and we made an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. Pat called at the approximate time they were due here to let me know they were running late which I appreciated very much. A couple of hours later, two employees arrived and did a wonderful job! They had to deal with bees in the remaining half of the pine tree, but they didn't complain and were very, very nice.
I did not find them on the list, but after I left my info. for Pat, I did check here and was happy to see a few reports--all good.

Getting our home ready to put on the market, we decided to have two tree's trimmed next to our house. I called Spartek based on the advice of a small restaurant owner who is located near them. The gentleman I spoke to at Spartek was very nice, seemed honest and straight-forward, and offered to come to my house to give me an estimate on getting the two tree's trimmed on my property. I agreed and he came out within a couple of days and gave me a solid quote. Wasn't the cheapest quote, but it was a good, fair, price. So I gave him the OK to do the work and he committed to getting me in the schedule within two weeks, which was fine with me. I received a call within about a week and he said he could do it that afternoon, if that was ok with me. So after getting the ok they performed the work. When I got home from work that evening and saw the two trees I was thoroughly impressed. They had done a really good job, both trees were trimmed back nicely. In addition, the crew had cleaned up everything so well I would never have known a tree service had even been there. This company really takes pride in their work and treated this customer in a top-notch fashion. I called them that evening and expressed my gratitude for taking the care that they did and for performing such good work.
