"Mike and his team were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure my house looked well put together and SO much more beautiful than it was before they began. We hired them for two jobs and each job was very well done. Both jobs required removal of wallpaper and painting. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get their house painted or wallpaper removed."

"Mr. Moyer is truly a professional and did such a great job repairing the damage.    During the process, I had one area that required drywall over an area that was to cover the pipes coming from the upstairs sink.    He noticed a drop of water on the drywall and I had to have plumber come out to repair the water leak under the sink.    It was such a subtle leak, but definitely needed repair prior to completing the job which could have caused more damage down the road if not detected.    He did an excellent clean up job as well once he completed the work."

"I contacted Fredrick's Painting to have my master bedroom painted. Scotty (owner) was very responsive and was out the next day to give an estimate for labor and materials. The quote was very reasonable and I was able to make my appointment for the next week. Fredrick's Painting showed up the next week on time and ready to work. I was very pleased with the results very clean lines on the ceiling and around the trim, they even went the extra mile and fixed nail pops and any defects in the drywall. After the room was finished everything was cleaned up and Scotty helped me get the furniture back into place. Fredrick's Painting is a very professional company that I would recommend to anyone."

"I initially purchased a "Big Deal" for painting a few small exterior areas. Later that summer, following a city home inspection, I hired Kiss Coatings to paint the remainder of the house Kiss Coatings did a thorough job and were respectful when it came to communicating and cleaning up. However, they promised to return the following summer to do any necessary touch-up painting, which they did not do. I sent repeated messages to ask them to follow through on a couple of areas but I never received a response."

"I think they were fabulous. They were very professional. it's a dad and his two sons doing all the estimating and work. I would absolutely use them again. They are a bit pricey, but it's definitely a case of "you get what you pay for." Their work is excellent. No headaches or problems:-) There were a few pre-existing problems (rotted wood on the Gazebo). They took care of what was in their scope and reccomended a carpenter for the section that needed a carpenter. They were reccomended by a friend who appreciates good work. I like that each member of this family has a ton of experience and does a great job. I paid them in installments for the work that they just completed. At one point, I over-paid them. Mr. Shockley pointed that out right away and told me a credit would be applied to the next portion of the job. He was great with all the paperwork. They have their own workshop. The TV cabinet came out great! It had an old-fashioned oak feel to it. They painted it black. Great job! They took the doors and shelves into their workshop to spray them."

"Greystone came out redid my kitchen and also worked on the entire first floor of my home except the floor. They installed new cabinets, new lighting, they ripped out all the old soffits and installed a new ceiling, installed new granite countertops, and installed new flooring in dining room. They also removed all the wallpaper on the first floor, the staircase and downstairs hallway. They prepped and painted the walls. They did a wonderful job. The workers were wonderful could not have been more considerate. They were very careful about cleaning up during and after the work was completed. They were so thoughtful before they started tearing things out of my kitchen they brought me a microwave so that I could heat up food if I needed to. I was very impressed with them. Patricia Jewel was wonderful, she was always asking if everything is going well, and if there were any problems or issues. Very pleased with my overall experience. Very satisfied with price and quality."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.

It’s possible to hang your own wallpaper, but the process is tedious and potentially frustrating, and it can be challenging to get seams to line up and look clean and professional. Plus, depending on the type of wallpaper you’re installing, using too much or too little adhesive could cause damage to your drywall or plaster, peeling, and bubbling in the final product. It’s usually a better idea to hire a professional wallpaper installer to do the work for you, as the relatively low cost is justifiable, if only to avoid damage to your walls.

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.
