Customers say: True professional

"I found Slawinski Plumbing through the Angie's List site, and I am so glad that I did. I will be using them from here on out, no need to look further. David first came over and gave me a quote for installing a gas and water line for some new kitchen appliances that were coming the following week. David was so professional and came back a few days later to do the installation. David and his son did an excellent job. I feel their pricing is very fair, and I will be telling EVERYONE I know to use them. I am that satisfied and happy with my experience."

"Tri-County Electric Services was able to send a plumber out the next day to provide estimates for a few projects in my home. Chris M. arrived at my home and was professional, knowledgable, straight forward, and friendly. He quoted me fair prices to install a new toilet and new kitchen faucet, both of which I had previously purchased independently and had at home ready to install. I was very happy that he was able to complete the installs that day. He also fixed a minor leak below a bathroom sink. All around a great experience! I will definitely hire them again for future plumbing needs. Chris explained that the company recently added a plumbing division to complement their electric services. Thank you for a job well done!"

Plumbing FAQs, answered by experts

Sewer laterals running from your house to the street frequently fail due to root intrusion and aging clay pipes. Hard water conditions across Parma Heights accelerate sediment buildup in water heaters, reducing their lifespan. Galvanized supply pipes in older homes eventually corrode and restrict water flow. You must also maintain outdoor hose bibs and basement floor drains, which frequently fail after harsh winter freezes or extended disuse.

Helpful?

Unexpected complications frequently arise when simple clogs reveal collapsed sewer laterals requiring full excavation. Discovering original lead service lines triggers mandatory replacement protocols. You encounter additional project requirements for permits and mandatory re-inspections if initial work fails. Opening walls for plumbing in Parma Heights often exposes hidden water damage, subfloor rot, or hazardous asbestos pipe wrap. Restoring drywall and tile also requires hiring separate local professionals.

Helpful?

Older housing stock throughout OH adds complexity to plumbing. Homes built between the 1950s and 1970s feature corroding galvanized steel pipes and brittle cast iron drains. Mature tree roots frequently invade aging clay sewer laterals, requiring extensive repairs. Additionally, finished basements require opening drywall or drop ceilings to access hidden drain stacks. Finally, discovering original lead service lines triggers strict environmental compliance and replacement protocols.

Helpful?

After completing plumbing in Parma Heights, schedule a final city inspection before closing your walls. Flush your lines thoroughly to clear any sediment disturbed during the repair. You should also check your water meter for abnormal readings. Finally, insulate any newly exposed pipes to protect them from harsh winter freezes. Schedule certified testing for any new backflow preventers to ensure your system meets safety standards.

Helpful?

City permit and inspection requirements inherently extend plumbing across multiple visits. Diagnosing sewer laterals requires an initial camera inspection before scheduling the actual repair. Accessing concealed pipes in finished basements adds time for separate drywall restoration. Coordinating main utility shutoffs with local authorities also delays the project start. Finally, peak seasonal demand throughout OH creates delays for sourcing parts and scheduling follow-up service appointments.
