"My tenants called the city of residence to remove a dead skunk.  The city animal control person said that they could smell the skunk but that they could not see it and they wouldn't work under the stair without being able to see the skunk.  It was really stinky and was smelling up the house badly, so I called Ace Wildlife Service after another Angie's List provider recommended him.
The owner originally quoted me $180 to remove the skunk and to spray a neutralizer that would help get rid of the bugs and flies left over from the dead animal.  (When I called back, I got a different price - something like $150 plus $20 a head?  I can't remember.)  I was pretty desperate to get rid of the skunk and the smell!  I was given the phone number of the technician that was actually going to come out and was told by the boss that he'd had a car accident earlier in the day.  The technician said that he'd finish up where he was and come out and work on my skunk issue when he was done with what he was doing.  WELL - after waiting 2 hours for him to show, I finally called the technician back and was told that he had forgotten and was already home.  I understand that people forget and asked about him coming the next day.  He asked me to text him the address and said that he would be there between 9-9:30am. to remove the skunk.  He DID come at the promised time and remove the carcass the next day VERY QUICKLY!  That was very good!  But because his truck was in shop, he didn't have any spray neutralizer ready to be used on the truck that he was using.  So I suggested that he forget that part of the service because he would have needed to go to the store and I figured that the smell would dissipate well enough on its own.
All in all, the technician did a good job and I was happy to have the skunk removed.  He also offered me the service of closing up the area under the stairway for the cost of $15 a foot but he would have had to go to the store to buy supplies (wood furring strips is what he was suggesting) and I felt that I could do the same job for less cost and with better materials that I already had available to me.

"I originally called for squirrel removal. When the company came to inspect the situation, it rained & they couldn’t finish. They wanted to reschedule, but after telling them my concerns that the animals might be raccoons, they informed me that they did not handle that animal. But, if I needed them for other pest control, I could get in touch with them."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Notably, earwigs, centipedes, and spiders all enjoy a silverfish lunch. You can’t turn to natural predators to fix your silverfish problem: In fact, one issue with silverfish is that they can bring in unwanted earwigs into the house or cause a minor infestation of hungry spiders, so it’s important to get rid of them as soon as possible.

Yes. German cockroaches are masters at hiding. If you notice one cockroach, especially in daytime hours, it’s very likely that other roaches aren’t far behind, or that the problem is growing. You don’t even need to see roaches to have warning bells go off: Many homeowners discover roach problems by noticing specks of droppings on the floor or roach smells.

Trained eyes spot subtle indicators amateurs might miss, ensuring issues are addressed before they escalate.

It’s highly unlikely that fleas will pack up and leave your home on their own. Fleas reproduce frequently and by the dozens, so an infestation can grow and spread rapidly, increasing the need for professional extermination. That’s why it’s important to address a flea issue in your home as soon as you identify it. Hire a professional flea exterminator to clear your home of these tiny pests.

A squirrel in a chimney may sound like gnawing since they like to chew through a wide range of materials. You may also hear a persistent scratching sound if they’re trapped inside and unable to get out themselves. Other evidence of a squirrel in your chimney includes holes on or around your chimney as well as droppings or damage to roof shingles or wiring.
