"Very knowledgeable guy who seem to know what he’s doing. Don’t know results of spraying. Have had much rain since. Will have to see if it worked. Terminex will spray again the beginning of next month."

"No complaints thus far. They show up on time and do stand by their word. Early on, we had them return a second time since we still had insects. They came back and applied a second round of treatment for free and it did the job. They are the only pest control contractors we have used so I do not have alot of knowledge to say how they rank. They seem good."

"Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Technically, yes, chinch bugs can fly. However you won’t usually see them in flight. Chinch bugs like to stick close to the ground and they usually move around by hopping or crawling (which is why they can be hard to see). Since they don’t get much chance at flying, they’re pretty bad at it and only fly for short distances—like to nearby yards.

Yes, in some cases, but only if you’re dealing with subterranean termites. These colonies live in the soil and can often be treated using liquid barriers or bait systems. Drywood termites are much more destructive and often require whole-structure fumigation to fully eradicate them. If you’re wondering how to get rid of termites without tenting, it’s best to consult a pest control professional to assess the type and severity of your infestation.

Both insects can damage wood, but there are key differences between termites and carpenter ants that tell them apart. Carpenter ants tunnel through moist wood, leaving behind smooth tunnels and sawdust-like piles, as they don't eat the wood but rather carve it for nesting. In contrast, termites actually consume wood, creating irregular galleries filled with mud and dirt, and leaving behind mud tubes as their signature. In terms of appearance, carpenter ants have segmented bodies with heart-shaped heads and larger front wings, while termites have more oval bodies with straight antennae and equal-sized wings.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

Spiders love dark, quiet, and protected places, especially when it comes to laying their eggs. Egg sacs are hidden in small webs that you may find in rarely-used wall corners and ceilings. Spiders are somewhat more likely to lay egg sacs against a house or inside a home to preserve them from the elements. These egg sacs are very durable and can hatch in anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
