"Had to replace an ancient Jenn-Air drop-in range with downdraft (installed in 1979) with a new LG duel fuel gas stove/electric oven range slide in. Knew it would take some work. Randy and Dan were great during the installation. Tim was very responsive."

"I called to see if someone could help me find the source of water coming in on my second floor. I am suspicious it is a stucco issue. Jason, the owner of the company, called me back very promptly, but did tell me due to high demand he was not able to help me at that time. I ended up talking with him for probably 20 minutes talking through possibilities and recommendations on what to do. He has been in business for a long time, has a vast knowledge of all aspects of homes, and home repair. I can say one thing, he definitely knows what he's doing, and gave me a lot of advice that will help me make sure I get my water problem fixed, and fixed correctly without shortcuts. This will be the first place I call anytime I need work done in the future. From windows, to roofs, to just about anything. I really appreciated his patience and answering all my questions."

"Movers arrived on time, wrapped larger pieces of furniture, broke down beds, moved boxes, and loaded truck all without any breaks. Everything arrived intact and they unloaded and set the beds back up. All three were friendly and professional and did an excellent job."

"I contacted this company in August for an estimate on the job.  Paul was very responsive and came out the following week to provide the estimate.  The estimate came in at $1100.  After contacting other contractors, I hired Handyman Matters.  I provided the new vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, and light fixture, and the company was to provide all other materials.  The same commode was put back in after flooring was completed.
The company promised to begin work on 13 Sep.  They stated it would take at least 8 hours to perform the work, but it depended on how much damage was found to the subflooring, so could take up to 16 hours.  They, in fact, did begin work on 13 Sep.  Additional damage was found to the subflooring requiring a new beam to be put in place.  Once that was complete, the contractor laid vinyl flooring and reinstalled the commode all on day 1.  The contractor was also able to install the new medicine cabinet on day 1.
Day 2, 14 Sep, the contractor installed the new vanity, sink and faucets and installed a new light fixture.  The worker, Ron A, built a 6 inch tall base for the new vanity/sink because the new vanity was too short for the plumbing.  Ron did an excellent job!  He finished the total job in about 10-11 hours.  Ron also went out of his way to fix a minor issue with the front door knob that was driving him crazy having to go in/out of the house so many times during his work.  It was a simple thing to fix and Ron did this at no charge.
Handyman Matters offers 3 coupons on Angie's List that helped to keep the cost of this job down.  The original estimate was $1100.  Final cost was $717.  I took advantage of one 8-hour coupon and the contractor prorated the second day based on their 4-hour coupon.  Ron did his best to get the job completed as quickly as he could without sacrificing quality.  Extra materials were required, but that was fine because of the quality of the work performed.  We love the bathroom now!
I will definitely use Handyman Matters again in the future.

"Travis and his crew were very friendly and professional. We had the entire first floor painted, walls and ceilings, including the 2 story entry. I have done my own painting for the last 30 years. The price was excellent. It was a joy to have someone else paint and they finished in just under 2 days instead of the estimated 3. The work was done 3 weeks earlier than expected because of rain delaying outdoor jobs. The quality is great and everything was cleaned up and put back the way it was. I would hire them again. Very highly recommended!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

There are DIY methods and store-bought pesticides available for the public to use. However, these pesticides also come with a risk, and you need to follow the directions correctly and take precautionary measures to prevent exposure to these chemicals. These methods may be an option for small pest problems, but you should call in a pest control specialist for persistent pests and infestations.

The type and amount of damage pests can cause to your home depends on the type of pest. Some pests, like rodents, often chew through wiring and can cause extensive damage to electrical systems, HVAC systems, walls, and insulation. Additionally, the pest’s waste presents a potential health hazard if it contaminates food or water. Other pests, such as termites, chew through floors, walls, and furniture, causing thousands of dollars in damage and making for costly repairs.

They’re a nuisance, but silverfish aren’t nearly as dangerous as other pests like cockroaches, mice, termites or bed bugs. They don’t carry diseases that humans or pets can catch, and they don’t cause widespread destruction like termites or rats. Silverfish are small and find it very easy to get inside any exposed foodstuffs. Like weevils, you may find them in unprotected flour, cereal, grains, bread boxes, chip packages and more. They will happily nibble fabric and paper as well, so they can cause damage to furniture, clothing, books, bedding, curtains and other materials.

If you seal bees in a wall and don’t leave them any way to escape, they may make one of their own. Otherwise, they’ll die inside the wall, and that creates many additional problems. It takes a long time, and the bees will start rotting, which can make your home smell miserable. All the dead bees and any honeycombs they may have created will also attract a number of bugs or other pests to your home. That’s why we suggest removing the bees entirely, and not trying to seal them away.

Chirping noises, droppings, scratches on the walls, and stains at entries and exits are all signs that you have bats in your house or, more specifically, your attic. Because bats are nocturnal, there’s a chance that bats have already infested your home before you start to see warning signs, so don’t delay if you notice anything. If you see a bat or two at sunrise or sunset near your property, that’s another telltale sign that they could be setting up shop inside your space.
