"A-1 company!!~ The owners are professional, personable, detail-oriented and extremely hard working. Thanks to them, my 25 year -old marble tile floors have a new lease on life and shine like new. Shad and Janelle did everything they said they would and more. I highly recommend them and would hire them again without question."

"The technician was very friendly and professional.  He was on-time, courteous and respectful of the furniture in the house. The carpets looked and smelled great when he was done. They stayed wet until the next day, but that was somewhat expected.
Unfortunately, once the carpet dried, most of the spots reappeared.  The carpet doesn't feel or look nearly as clean as I expected it to.  It was only a mild improvement.  My personal Hoover carpet cleaner even takes out some of the spots that Downey left behind.  I think this has something to do with the process Downey uses for their carpet cleaning.  I will try a service provider in the future which uses a different cleaning process.

"When some workers were on my roof fixing a broken shingle, they noticed that the bricks on my chimney looked like they were crumbling.  I called Thompson's Masonry to get an estimate of repair work.  Bob Thompson came out right away, and recommended a complete chimney rebuild.  He also gave me an estimate for replacing some damaged bricks and tuckpointing and sealing the brickwork on the front of my house, which was in pretty bad shape.  When I spoke to Bob, he agreed to take off $100 if I had both done at the same time, which I really appreciated since they were both fairly big expenses.  (He also offered to honor the estimate for the brickwork on the front next spring if I decided to just do the chimney and wait on the rest, but I decided to go ahead with both).  Bob was great - friendly and professional.  He called me back right away, answered all of my questions, and showed up when he said he would.  He was able to match the bricks and mortar color of the existing brickwork.  He even fixed the tuckpointing on my front steps, which another group had "fixed" (badly) in the spring, so it matched.  Everything looks great.  I would definitely call him again if I need any masonry work done.

"I'm completing this review for may sister Barbara G. , Parma Ohio who is 82 year old, on a fixed income, is legally blind, and does not have access to the internet. Alan Luf did several projects for my sister starting in 2012. All of them satisfactory. So she did not hesitate to contact him to renovate her kitchen. Work started mid Aug 2019. Most of the work was completed in Aug 2019. He was paid in full because he promised to return to complete the job. Contractor returned in Oct 2019 to compete work - backsplash and molding and trim. Backsplash could not be completed because one box of the blacksplash material was the wrong style. Contractor had to reorder to complete the work. My sister spoke to the contractor several times from Oct 2019 thru Mar 2020. He said he had the correct backsplash and would be over to complete the job. He was always a 'no show'. He now does not return her phone calls. Contractor is accepting work from other customers and completing those jobs, but he is either unable or unwilling to complete the kitchen project for my sister. At this point she is asking him to give her all materials needed to complete the work plus a refund so she can hire another contractor to complete the kitchen renovation. I have sent hm a message on Facebook, wrote a review on his Facebook page, sent him a certified letter regarding return of materials and a refund. There had been no response from him."

"Jaime is simply the best. I’m unexpectedly moving and needed to get my house on the market. i had a huge list of improvements and repairs to get done to get my house show-ready. He did everything i needed from painting to plumbing to electrical and my long list of “honey-do’s”. He was neat, tidy and efficient. His workmanship is impeccable. Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Clorox wipes contain bleach, which is unsafe for use on quartz countertops. When used over time, the bleach will damage the countertop surface and cause it to become discolored or damaged. Instead of Clorox wipes, use a pH-neutral multipurpose solution and clean the surface gently using a soft microfiber cloth.

There are three main downsides to quartzite: the cost, the porosity, and the weight. As a natural stone, there’s a level of scarcity that can drive up the price of certain types of quartzite. Even more common varieties are less affordable than synthetic materials like laminate and other natural stones like granite.

You’ll also have to reseal your quartzite countertop annually to combat the natural porosity and reinforce your cabinets to account for the added weight.

You can cut granite countertops after installing them, but you need to consider the mess it will make. Dust will be everywhere, and lots of protective gear will be required. On top of that, you will need to measure meticulously to make sure the cuts you make are perfect; otherwise, you’ll be stuck having to replace the entire slab of granite, which is a much bigger job.

Silestone® is a low-maintenance countertop material, but certain things, like strong chemicals and solvents, can cause damage. Abrasive scrubs can cause scratches, and products that contain oil or powder can leave a residue. Finally, avoid letting oven cleaner come into contact with Silestone® because it can cause discoloration.

Most repairs take 2-4 hours. Extensive repairs or full refinishing may require additional time, typically up to a full day.
