"Amanda Plumbing is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I had them out over the weekend for a leak that was going into my ceiling. It turns out that it was from our upstairs bathroom toilet (which we were going to replace anyways) The plumber Tyler was super kind and helpful. He fixed our leak and installed the new toilet that I had on my hubby's to do list. I was also surprised about how reasonable their weekend rates were and how fast Tyler got out to us. Thank you again. We will defiantly be calling you back when we have a tankless water heater put in!!!"

"Our only toilet in the house was clogged. But not in the toilet it was way down in the line somewhere. I called several plumbers and no one could get to it till after the weekend. It was after hours and I called George's drain left a message and he called me right back. After explaining to him that was the only toilet we had he legitimately seemed like he cared and said that he would be on his way. He showed up about 20 minutes later. Very polite very courteous great attitude. It was quite the job he wasn't able to reach the clog with the normal stuff so it had to bring in the big guns. He had to take out our whole toilet and it's not a normal toilet but he did it I told him just break it and he didn't want to do that. He was here till about 9:30 at night. It took several hours but he did not give up and he fixed it and now it's working great and gave me a 30-day warranty and a call back the next day to see if everything was still okay. This guy is A+++ I would recommend to anybody."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Great! The plumber who came to our house had 40+ years of experience. He knew exactly how to address our plumbing problems and even educated me on how to easily and simply test for toilet seal leaks and how to keep the kitchen drains and garbage disposal in better condition. I really appreciated that! He worked extra hard at unsticking the garbage disposal blades to save us the cost of purchasing a new one when ours was still in good condition. I felt he treated our house and our plumbing problems with as much care and thought as he would his own. But that's typical of the experience I've had with this company through about 15 years of using their services. They are exceptional!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Fine. I have renters in the house and their description of the "problem" wasn't very helpful. Turns out there was no real problem (toilet needed handle held down to completely flush sometimes [I have that happen occasionally at my house as well]), and so Wells had to come twice (they didn't know what equipment to bring). I went ahead and had the services performed just because the tank hadn't been cleaned out in a while. Bruce and his boys do great work, and they are always so nice. I can't really judge price, as Wells is the company I always call. Sometimes they don't arrive as soon as they predict, but if they run into unforeseen issues at an earlier appointment, what can they do? They do call to give an "I'm on my way" heads-up phone call."

"John and his brother did a great job analyzing and then replacing a toilet in our basement. Efficient in his work and very fair in his pricing, we were happy with the results (Covid proper). One small glitch in that a seal was slow dripping, so he came back and made it perfect. John is my new â  plumber on call.â Â"

"Below is my review of Double Wrench Plumbing. They came to repair a leaky toilet as well as to replace an old one with a new one. They provided same day service. All the work which included going to the store to purchase supplies as well as handling a leaky situation was performed in under 4 hours. Pros 1. Efficient 2. Friendly 3. Discussed options that best save the customer money 4. Explain and show the customer the issues related to the plumbing 5. Service was affordable Cons 1. Did not turn off the water main before beginning work (this is plumbing 101), which resulted in water leaking from the second floor to the first floor. 2. Did not take off work boots while in the house. If taking boots off is not ideal, they could consider wearing those baggy things construction workers wear. 3. Clean up could have been better. They should consider having their own supplies and make sure they leave a customer's home as they found it."

"EcoPlumbers sent Josh out, He was very nice and knowledgeable...and patient! I say that because the fancy toilet I bought from Home Depot was missing parts, and I had to go back while he waited at my home to exchange it. I apologized profusely for the waste of time, and he was very understanding. No apology needed. Josh did great work, and we are happy with our upstairs toilet replacement!"

"He called within a few minutes of me searching on this web site, which was great. I had originally intended to get some estimates, but I new from past experience the prices he cited were fair and not inflated. He repaired the leaking pipes under the kitchen sink, rodded out the totally clogged bathroom sink drain, and put all new innards and intake tube on the downstairs toilet. He advised me about some other things that needed doing that weren't emergencies, and we will definitely be contacting him again."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Whether or not a power-flush toilet is worth it depends on your toilet needs and your budget. If your bathroom sees a lot of use or you’re concerned about the toilet clogging, then a power-flush toilet may be the right choice. You should also check the pressure requirements to make sure your system can handle the necessary requirements.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

Ensuring your toilet will fit starts with measuring the rough-in, but there are a few other factors to consider. The toilet tank's height and the toilet's depth should fit comfortably within the bathroom’s current setup. When considering depth, look at the walking space around the toilet to ensure it fits in the bathroom.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Generally, toilet leaking is not an emergency unless the leakage is severe. However, any leakage at the bottom should be addressed as soon as possible because it could lead to water damage to the floors, under the tiles, or into the walls. Leaks at the bottom can also lead to mold growth if unaddressed.
