"The professionals of Krumlauf Floors were an answer to a prayer. I needed a tight timeframe turnaround on the installation of a hardware floor to provide a safer walking surface upon my husband's return from a Rehab Hospital. Krumlauf Floors came through in a way that was prompt, courteous, and proficient. I would recommend them and use them again."

"Mike and his crew were all very professional and a pleasure to work with. The oak floors that they refinished were laid in 1959 and were in pretty bad shape, with stains in multiple areas and burns around the fireplace. In just 3 days they stripped and refinished the top floor of my Cape Cod style house plus 2 bedrooms, the living room, 2 hallways and 3 closets on the main level. All of the hardwood in the house is now beautiful! I would not hesitate to use Mike again or recommend him to others."

"I emailed Stewart's floors from their website and they called me the next day to schedule an estimate. They came out the same day and provided me an estimate on the spot. It is a 4th generation, small, family owned and operated company. This was appealing to us and Jim was very kind and knowledgeable and I enjoyed speaking with him during the estimate. Once the remodeling was done in our home about 3 weeks later I emailed Stewart's to let them know we would be ready to start our floors in the next week or two and wanted to check on their schedule. I didn't hear back so I called a few days later. I spoke with Betty and she informed me that she would call me back the next day. I didn't hear from her so I called back again Wednesday and left a voicemail in the evening. Still no word until she called at the end of the week to say she was waiting to call me because they needed to see how the jobs panned out over the week to know when they could start. I totally understand that, but if you tell someone you're going to call them Tuesday you probably shouldn't wait until Friday. Even a call to say that they woudln't have an answer until Friday would've been great. I just assumed they were too busy and didn't want the work so I had to take my time to call and get an estimate from another company in the mean time when I didn't hear back all week. We selected a date for them to start and as promised they gave a 30 minute call ahead on a Monday before arriving at the house. Again, Josh and his crew were very knowledgeable and we enjoyed speaking with them. Josh even called me at the end of the day to check in and tell me how things went and when they'd be back. This blew me away- awesome customer service and something I hadn't experienced from a contractor before. I had to pause the process by one day on Friday because I had a scheduled appointment to get our ducts cleaned. This really seemed to mess things up and it added multiple days to the process. They were supposed to come back Saturday or Monday and I never heard back from them as to when they would return. Again, I called the office and couldn't get a clear answer for quite some time. They showed up Tuesday or Wednesday and started the rest of the floors. To be fair, we did add two additional rooms to the job, so I understand that adds extra time. Overall, the floors look great and the price was very competitive, but the communication efforts could really use some improvement. I would recommend Stewart's and was very satisfied with the overall finished product, but the process to get there was more painful than I would've liked. The delay ended up pushing back our move in date back by a week, which wasn't the end of the world, but was a hassle."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In Dublin, signs that your flooring may need replacement include hardwood gaps wider than 1/8 inch, persistent squeaks, or uneven transitions between rooms. Cracked tiles, warped laminate, or musty odors can signal moisture or subfloor issues. If you notice soft spots, peeling vinyl, or lingering pet smells, these often point to deeper problems that warrant a professional floor inspection and possible replacement.

Helpful?

Completing a flooring project in Dublin offers immediate benefits like improved indoor air quality, a refreshed look, and increased property appeal—important in the local real estate market. Over time, quality floor installation reduces maintenance needs, boosts energy efficiency, and stands up better to Dublin’s climate shifts. Investing in durable flooring also helps maintain your home’s value and supports neighborhood standards.

Helpful?

In Dublin, address flooring projects right away if you notice safety hazards like loose boards, moisture damage, or signs of mold. If your floors are simply worn but structurally sound, you can plan for floor replacement within the year. Cosmetic flaws or minor scuffs can wait, especially if you’re coordinating with other home renovations or want to schedule work for less disruptive times like spring or fall.

Helpful?

In Dublin, the longevity of your flooring depends on selecting materials that resist local humidity and temperature changes, such as engineered hardwood or luxury vinyl plank. Proper subfloor preparation is crucial, especially due to the region’s clay soil movement. Allowing flooring materials to acclimate before installation and using moisture barriers in basements help prevent future issues. Hiring experienced local floor installers familiar with Dublin’s unique home styles also ensures a lasting result.

Helpful?

Before starting floor installation in Dublin, check for hidden moisture in subfloors, especially in basements, and test for asbestos if your home is older. Review any HOA flooring guidelines and confirm your project fits within Dublin’s typical construction hours. Schedule your project during spring or fall for stable indoor conditions, verify your contractor’s insurance, and check if floor replacement requires permits to avoid last-minute setbacks.
