"Albert did an excellent job repairing our ceiling which had water damage from leak in our air conditioning. He arrived 2 days to complete the plaster job . We are pleased with ceiling which had a pattern. Can't tell any difference in the pattern that he repaired. Would recommend Albert for any plastering or drywall job."

"Long story short I had to replace half of my living room ceiling because of water damage! My main concern was that the texture would not match and you would be able to see a huge difference. Alex insured me that they could get it to 90% to match. I think they got it closer to 95% to match it was spot on! They painted the ceiling in the living room and did some repair on my hallway stairs. They laid cardboard down to protect my Pergo flooring and put plastic up to prevent dust getting to the rest of the house. When they were finished I had a brand new living room, they cleaned up all the construction debris and swept all the construction dust up and made sure I was 100% satisfied with the work that they did. I was even comfortable enough to give them a key to the house so I did not have to be here and I would continue to work not miss any time off. I highly recommend S.A.I. Construction company on your project"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

It’s less costly to drywall a fireplace than shiplapping it since material costs are higher for shiplap. However, if you’re DIYing the project, shiplap is less expensive since you won’t have to pay for labor. With drywall, getting a smooth finish is difficult unless you’re a pro. Shiplap is ideal for an accent wall or unique space, such as around a fireplace, since it adds texture and gives off a cozy vibe.

The amount of drywall you need for a 1,000-square-foot basement depends on the ceiling height, angles, number of doors and windows, and more. To find the wall square footage, multiply the width and height of each wall, minus any gaps from windows or doors, and add the totals together. You’ll also need enough drywood nails or screws to install the drywall correctly.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.
