"I called several providers and these guys are the only ones to reply. They came the next day to measure and give a quote. The day after they were on the job. Came on time every day and cleaned up every day. They had great suggestions. They itemized everything so I could do some of the work too like demo. While installing the baseboard I noticed the gap on the baseboard register was too big. They came out the next  day and fixed the oversight. The job looks great...we would certainly use them again. Thanks Dan.

"I am very pleased with the service i received! I bought a deal off Angie's List and they called the next day to arrange a housecleaning for the very next day! So 2 days from purchase to having a Very clean house. They were very professional and emailed me to let me know they were running about a half hour late. Arrived promptly after that and got straight to work cleaning the house from top to bottom, after discussing a bit some areas i wanted to have more attention. We have four children and homeschool so a lot of people are home a Lot of the time = the house gets messy Fast. They easily worked around us and we were all pleased with the results. Many areas were cleaned that i do not get to that often such as cabinet doors, inside appliances, dusting ceiling fans etc......The kitchen and bathrooms were given especially detailed attention. I would give them a very good review and we hope to hire them to continue on with regular cleanings bimonthly."

"Mr Moyer repaired a hole in a plaster ceiling for us caused by a water leak.  He gave us an accurate estimate and completed the work for that price. The ceiling is plaster and had areas where it was coming away from the lathe.  He was able to salvage much of the plaster and repair the hole using drywall, matching the original texture.  We were extremely happy with the work and the price.  We were so pleased that three weeks later when we had additional water damage to a second ceiling we immediately called him to do this repair.  He had his son and another worker do this job and we were just as happy with their work and the price for this second job.  This repair was a little more extensive and ran $225.00."

"WOW! Mike's crew arrived and immediately got to work covering floors and our furniture (which we had moved away from the walls prior to their arrival). Each person on the team has a specialty skill. There were folks doing wall repair, painting around ceiling fixtures, and then painting ceilings and walls. At one point there were five people from Mike's team in my house painting. When they finished they cleaned up. The team was convivial with each other. The final results are wonderful. Thanks Mike and your great team!"

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

The cost to repair a ceiling after a water leak can vary, with averages ranging from $419 to $1,359, or $45 to $55 per square foot. Smaller patches may cost around $150. The final price depends on the size of the affected area and the extent of the damage. Remember that you will also need to repair the source of the leak, such as roof damage or a plumbing issue, which can cost an additional $200 to $1,550. Depending on the situation, you might also face costs for repainting or repairing floors. For an accurate estimate, it is best to get a quote from a professional.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.

If your popcorn ceiling has noticeable cracks, you may want to have it checked by a professional before cleaning it. Adding any moisture or disturbing the ceiling may worsen the cracks, so find out if your ceiling needs to be repaired by a local contractor before cleaning.

Knockdown hides imperfections better than orange peel due to its thicker, more varied pattern. The valleys and peaks make flaws less visible under lighting. However, note that knockdown walls will collect more dust and dirt, so be prepared to wipe them away more frequently than you would with orange peel.

Some pros may recommend covering a popcorn ceiling that tests positive for asbestos with beadboard ceiling planks or drywall. The cost to install a beadboard ceiling averages more than $5,000, but you likely will pay more than the average for the installer to deal with the asbestos safely. Installing a beadboard ceiling or new drywall will disturb the asbestos and release some microscopic fibers, so the installer will need to take precautions.
