We appreciated their honest and sincere approach to doing business. "They poured us a large walkway on the side of the house that connected to our driveway and an 8x10 foundation for our shed. I told them my main concern was that water from the FL storms we get would get directed towards the house and pool from the walkway. Mason assured us that his guys would make sure the slope would prevent that. 3 days after the concrete was poured we had 2 days with separate huge storms that dropped almost for total inches of water. None of the water came into the garage or came towards the house. All of it flowed to the other side of the walkway and none of it reached the pool or came close to it. It was exactly what they told me it would do. Fantastic job, I would recommend to anyone. My neighbors have both asked for their information and will be setting up projects in the future with them."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The most important thing to put under a rock garden is the appropriate soil. The specific soil needed will depend on the type of plants you’re growing as well as the environment you live in. You can also put non-woven or woven fabric under the rocks to add to the garden's structural stability.

If you use the wrong plants for your gardening zone, you’ll likely get less than desirable yields from them. In some cases, your plants can even die. It’s important to ensure that your plants are able to survive in your hardiness zone before getting them into the ground.

Determining how many boulders you’ll need for your landscaping project depends on the area you need to cover and how big each boulder is. First, you’ll need to determine how big of an area you want covered, then divide that by the base surface area of the boulders. A landscape professional can help you determine how many boulders will be right for your project.

If shade is a priority for you, then panting elm trees is a fine choice. A full mature elm tree has enough aesthetic appeal for some folks that it could add value to your home.

That said, never plant elm trees too close to your home, sewer line, or sidewalks, as their roots can damage these, which can lead to costly repairs.

Before you begin landscaping with rocks, put down a weed barrier or landscape fabric to prevent pesky weeds from poking through.
