"Ben saved a do it yourself project gone wrong. A leaking toilet in the bathroom rotted the subfloor and was damaging the ceiling of the room below. Ben removed the existing tile floor, flange and the damaged subfloor. Then repaired the subfloor, installed a new flange and creatively solved a plumbing issue, then laid new tile down. Finally, he reset the toilet and repair the ceiling in the room below. Very friendly and professional. I would recommend this company for sure."

"Had Matt run new wire for a big addition and hook everything up. He was easy to work with, communicative, and fast. Very talented for a young guy. I was nervous about some potential complications but once we turned everything on, zero issues"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.

No, a ceiling fan doesn’t have to be wired to a switch, but it’s often more convenient. You can use the included pull chain if your ceiling isn’t too high or install a remote module later, as they are a cheap, easy-to-install option that’ll let you control both the fan and light fixture.

When choosing a mounting bracket, you have the option between flush mounts and downrod mounts. Flush mounts are the better option for low ceilings as they feature a lower profile. Downrod mounts are the optimal choice for rooms with high ceilings as they offer a pole that adjusts the height of the fan.

Installing a ceiling fan where no wiring exists is a difficult and potentially dangerous job that should not be attempted as a DIY project. It is recommended to hire a certified electrician to build the necessary electrical infrastructure. In some areas, building codes require this work to be done by a professional to ensure safety and compliance. Due to the complexity, this type of installation is a significant job that could cost up to $2,000.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.
