Prior to purchasing the deal on Angie's List, I asked the provider if specific dates - any time - were available.  I was advised to call to schedule, leading me to believe that one of the requested dates was, in fact, available.  I purchased the deal immediately and requested to be scheduled for one of the dates.  I got a response that said I had to call to schedule.  I found it bothersome that scheduling options are made available at purchase, but the vendor does not use it.  I called and spoke to Constantine who advised me that none of the dates I requested was available.  This was annoying, but we reached another date that was agreeable, not ideal.

Bruno called the day of to say he was on his way.  This was during the show window - and he was prompt.  He was very well spoken and professional both in appearance and demeanor.  After a survey of the fireplaces, he advised me that he was only to clean one chimney per his work order - I have only one chimney.  But, apparently, each flue is considered a separate chimney - even though the chimney is what holds the flues.  Not vice versa.  As the deal did not indicate that it was a per flue cleaning, but a per chimney cleaning, I told him I was expecting both flues to be cleaned.  He promptly contacted his management to resolve the misunderstanding.  At all times Bruno was friendly and professional.

Constantine called me shortly to say that they would not clean the second flue.  That it was a second chimney.  Both of my flues are contained within one chimney.  I reminded him that the deal did not say "per flue" but "per chimney".  I strongly recommend that management at Lowe's Air Duct Cleaning review the meaning of chimney:  a structure, usually vertical, containing a passage or flue by which the smoke, gases, etc., of a fire or furnace are carried off and by means of which a draft is created. 

I find it unbelievable that a business who specializes in chimney cleaning is not more specific about the services they offer. 

If Bruno were to go to another company, I would hire him again.  But I will not use Lowe's again.

"Excellent! I called Thompson's Masonry for an estimate on chimney work. Bob came out within 45 minutes of the phone call and determined that we needed some repairs on our chimney, not a complete rebuild as had been told to us by other companies that had come out (rebuild prices ranging from $1500 to over $4000!). He also pointed out some tuckpointing that needed done on other brick on our house. He said he could do the work the next day. The price and timing were perfect, so we hired him. He showed up the next morning when he said he would (he was even a little early...bonus points!) and worked all day. He communicated with me throughout the day re: the progress. He was always courteous, respectful, and just a nice guy! The whole process was a positive one. The finished chimney and tuckpointing look great! I am so thankful I found Thompson's Masonry on Angie's List and we have already recommended him to friends who need masonry work. "Bob was very responsive during the process and very helpful in making our decision on what type of vinyl siding to install. We have received many compliments from the neighbors and the crew was easy to work with. My only issue is with timeliness, Bob was late for every appointment we scheduled, which is frustrating when you take off work to meet. Also, there was a delay in scheduling due to a crew member being out on leave, after two weeks past the estimated time for the project to begin I had to reach out to Bob to see what was going on. Our crew also didn't show up one day due to running out of material, which was not communicated to us, and let us wondering what had happened.
The crew was professional and did a great job, unfortunately punctuality and communication issues put a damper on the experience for us.
