"This company said they forgot to charge me for certain things. They have scratched my piano. They didn’t even know how to load the piano onto the truck. I never make posts like this but I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. They kept referring to my belongings as ‘****’. The owner’s son told me that ‘all of this ****’ is not going to fit on the truck. It was a tight fit and 2 large items and some artwork didn’t fit but we spent more time taking how it wasn’t going to fit than doing the work that I was paying them for. When you are paying by the hour, you don’t need someone arguing with you about what will go on the truck and how it will fit. I did the measurements and the math. Everything should have fit because it did before. They wanted to load the piano on one side of the truck without it being supported on blocks. They also didn’t wrap the piano lid, sound board or any of my furniture with plastic despite my PROVIDING it for them. Instead, they strapped the lid of the piano directly on top of the sound board. WOOD ON WOOD. It is scratched. There are now gouges on the side of the sound board. They lost screws for the legs and left some screws in the sound board resulting in them getting bent. Despite the negative experience I was already having I still tipped them because I am a good person. While on the road, I noticed that my card was charged more than I authorized. No phone call. No text. Just decided to charge me more. I have sent pictures to the owner of the company and no response. I want a full refund besides the tip because I don’t believe that the people that work for this **** poor company should be punished for their lack of professionalism and skill to properly manage a move. I have a damaged piano that is 90 years old. With no screws to even put on the sustaining and dampening pedals. You can’t just charge someone’s card whatever amount you want. This company is horrible to deal with. I wouldn’t even let them move stuff to the goodwill if I were you."

We are a locally owned, family run residential moving company. We specialize in Piano moving. We services the greater Rochester area and surrounding Counties.

"We had Caccamise moving company move us onto a condo on Oct 25, 2022. The arrangements talking to Ashley in the office was easy and she was able to manage getting the time slot we preferred. We had a two-man team- Neil and Zach. Both were very careful with our belongings, and were efficient with their time. We had a challenging move, into a new condo with elevator, long halls with three turns which made moving our heavy furniture more difficult than most moves. Neil and Zach were respectful, and kept their good humor during our challenging move. We highly recommend Caccamise Moving, especially if this is representation of their entire work force. Thank you, Bill & Marilyn Bohrer"

"The 2 people who actually showed up were professional, although they arrived very late, which I attribute to three poor management. I was quoted 3 guys for 8 hours, and only 2 showed up. They attempted to overcharge me the original quote. Long story short, Tower contracted a local company and did a poor job of handing over the job."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Hire movers two to three months before your move-out date to give you enough time to compare rates, organize your belongings, and, most importantly, find a crew available for the exact day and time you need. You may find movers only one or two weeks ahead, but some companies require booking up to 90 days in advance. Consider the time of year, too—summer weekends book up fast, so plan ahead.

No, not tipping movers isn’t considered rude. Tipping is optional, not expected. There are plenty of alternative ways to show your appreciation without tipping.

While it's not expected, tipping junk haulers is a kind gesture when the team goes above and beyond for piano disposal. Lugging and breaking down a piano requires specialized equipment, maneuvering, and a lot of strength. When your junk haulers take particularly good care of your home during the process, consider tipping between 10% and 20% of the total bill to split among the team or $10 to $20 per hauler.

Yes, tipping each mover separately ensures that everyone on the team gets their fair share.

Tipping movers isn’t mandatory, and most professional companies won’t expect it, but it is a nice way to say “thank you” and to show your appreciation for the care they took while handling your belongings. Tipping somewhere between 10% and 20% of your total bill to split among the movers is a good amount. Tipping is an especially good idea if your movers are working in the rain, snow, or excessive temperatures, if they relocate specialty items, like pianos, or simply if they go above and beyond during the process of moving.
