"We had our roof completely replaced and we feel very fortunate to have met Joe from Buffalo’s Best Roofing to walk us through the work they would do for us. He helped us select a beautiful shingle to match our existing siding. From start to finish we couldn’t be happier. Thank you to the crew at Buffalo’s Best Roofing."

"We love our new standing-seam, metal roof from Stellar Roofing!!! It was simple to work with them (very low stress). And, they were friendly, efficient, and did top notch work. From beginning to end was about 2 1/2 days :) As far as we are concerned, Stellar Roofing is the new gold standard!"

"We removed an old wood stove from our 200yr old Clarence house and needed the chimney removed. Austin from Oâ Connor Contracting was so easy to work with for scheduling and once he came and found 3 layers of shingles, tin roof, subpar decking, and a missing joist, he and his team was still able to remove the chimney and redo the roofing in under 2days. Austin was amazing at communicating during the entire project: since I was at work most of the time, he sent many photos and updates so I was very comfortable with the obviously bigger-than-expected project. Thanks Austin!"

"We received quotes from four different contractors. Most of the quotes were in the same price range. However, we chose MP Roofing and Siding because of Mikeâ s knowledge about siding products, his enthusiasm, and because he took the time to understand our ideas for the house. His work team was here at 8 AM every morning and worked fast and efficiently until the siding, window trim, porch ceilings, shutters and gutters were finished. They replaced the storm doors and Mike installed new light fixtures on the porches. There were a few places on the house (itâ s over 100 years old) that didnâ t require siding but looked bad, such as the kick plates under the door. They replaced those and a few other areas to give the house a completely made over, refinished look. Mike constantly checked in with us to make sure we were satisfied with the progress. He monitored the work every day. I would always get an immediate response if I texted him. Mike is friendly and enthusiastic, but at the same time very serious about making sure that our house looked spectacular! We are 100% pleased with the outcome and glad we chose MP Roofing and Siding."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

An improperly installed skylight could potentially impact your roof's warranty. This happens because roofing penetration is necessary during skylight installation. Check your warranty information to verify. In most cases, having skylights professionally installed with proof that flashing is being done to specifications can be enough to preserve your roof's warranty.

The best material for your shed roof depends on your budget and personal preferences. For instance, if you’re looking for the most cost-effective option, rolled roofing is your best bet. Just be aware that it only lasts for five to eight years. If you prefer something with a longer life span (and you’re willing to pay for that durability), consider slate shingles, which can last for hundreds of years.

The terms “roof shingles” and “roof tiles” are sometimes used interchangeably, but the term “shingles” most often refers to asphalt, rubber, metal, or slate shingles, and the term “tiles” normally means they’re made from clay or concrete. In all cases, shingles are small, rectangular components that a roofer layers in an overlapping pattern to protect the structure underneath from the elements.

The average cost of a metal roof for a 2,000-square-foot home is $11,700, but your price can range from $12,000 to $90,000, depending on the number of stories you have, your roof design, and the specific metal you choose. Reach out to a metal roofing company to get an accurate estimate customized for your home.

The easiest type of roof to build is a shed-style or lean-to roof, which features a single sloping plane from one side of the building to the other. Unlike a gable roof with two sides meeting in the middle, a shed roof's single slope makes the construction process more straightforward. The rafters are typically single pieces of wood that span the distance, often without the need for additional supports.
