"Upon arrival for the free estimate, the team that showed up were very professional. They knew their job and explained in detail exactly what needed to be done. My staircase was missing the handrails going down to the lower level. Next Carpentry inc provided several options and finishes that I could choose from. I choose the wood finish with the oak railing. The job was completed in 2 days as promised. Each day they provided great detailed service. They cleaned up thoroughly after each day. My bottom step was out of plumb and the next day it was completely fixed. I would recommend Next Carpentry Inc to anyone willing to give them a chance. Their estimate was 50% less than the competitors and the lead time was instantly available. The competitors gave a 2 month lead time and wanted to charge more. I am happy I went with Next Carpentry inc."

"We started out with a budget just for the kitchen to repaint the kitchen cabinets, replace the flooring with porcelain tiles, redo the peninsula, use quartz for the counter tops, add recess lighting, and center the lighting fan. Into the job, based on Harvey's excellent advice, we decided to get new kitchen cabinets, have Harvey and his team build storage cabinets above the new cabinets instead of having a soffit built in that open space. We also had a pantry rebuilt by Harvey and his team as well. Lastly we had the peninsula changed to an island with cabinets added underneath as well. Also, we decided to redo the small (powder) bathroom on the main floor. Harvey and his team were awesome. He was very patient in allowing us to make changes to the original plans that turned out quite outstanding. His team always showed up early for work. The quality of the work was simply outstanding. Instead of half doing things like what we got with the Home Depot contractors in years prior, Harvey and his team took things back to the studs and made sure the things were built the right way. I now feel very confident about what is behind the walls and how the work was done. I will attached pictures of the kitchen and bathroom by next week. We are still putting things back into the new cabinets now and etc. We are extremely happy with the work Harvey and his team did. We intend to use them for a few other projects in the future. If you're really thinking about having work done on your home, I would highly recommend that you speak with Harvey to have his team come to do an amazing job for you as well. He will work with you on to provide competitive pricing. In the end it's all about quality work that you can feel great about. We feel great!!!!!!! :)"

"Finding JQ Construction and Handyman was like finding a diamond in the rough. I had received a quote from a painter whose work I was familiar with. Letâ s just say his quote was about 4 times the amount I was quoted from JQ Construction. The work, on the other hand, was a million times better than the more expensive painter. Jorge went above and beyond for us. Nowadays everyone is quantity of quality, but not JQ Construction. The previous owner had opened up a closet space and left some harder to cut out studs sticking out of the ceiling. Well Jorge took care of that even though it wasnâ t discussed. Our room went from a depressing space to a uplifting gorgeous space. Not to mention the precise work he did when painting the risers of our stair case. Jorge is a perfectionist and will give any job big or small all of his attention and skills. With the type of work you get and the price you cannot pass up hiring JQ Construction. For someone who is also in the building trades and knows how rare it is to find a great contractor, JQ Construction is an extremely rare find. We will be hiring JQ Construction for more projects in the future. Jorge and his crew are fantastic. JQ Construction are a family type business. What I mean by that is by the end of the project Jorge feels more like family than just some stranger youâ re paying to work in your home. Go ahead and higher JQ Construction, they will not let you down."

"Mack Rubio and his team are awesome. My front porch was beginning to sag on one corner and it was causing my vinyl siding to bow out. My home also needed to be pressure washed. Mack is very knowledgeable and he got his level out and showed me that the left side of my porch was two inches lower than the right side. I knew my left column was rotting but I was not sure about the wooden supports I could not see beneath the decking boards. Mack assessed the situation and advised pouring concrete footers and replacing only the columns and supports that needed to be replaced on the porch. His quote was very reasonable and I didn't hesitate to give Handymack Services the work. Mack and his team were on time, got right to work, and I was truly amazed at all that got accomplished while I was at work. When I got home, Mack took the time to explain what remained to be done and his schedule for finishing the project. Mack's work is quality and he stated more than once that he wanted to make sure I was happy. Honestly, I am way beyond happy because I have never contracted with anyone who has been as thorough, nor who worked as quickly as Mack. My porch looks great, my siding is no longer bowed out, and the pressure washing made my twelve year old siding look new. I was so impressed I immediately hired him to repair a door frame, stain my back deck, and replace warped deck boards. I will definitely be giving Handymack Services my business in the future because they value me as a customer and I value their honesty, promptness, and attention to detail."

"Landron Contracting did such a fantastic job that I will undoubtedly hire again and share with anyone looking for a professional, courteous and personable contractor. He checked every detail of his work to ensure I was satisfied when he was done. His fees were reasonable as well. Thank you Angi and David Landron. Finding a good contractor is difficult. Not anymore. I found mine."

"Guys, you can go wrong with “Mastro” Vito.. I was just call him for a bathroom remodel and I finished up to do my entire house. The way he works and make the impossible task ( I was thinking) possible makes me feel confident to do the entire interior renovation. Unfortunately I can’t upload more than 10 pictures but it is more to show. Thanks Vito you did a great job!"

"Peter from PAS construction was hired to fix a structural issue with my deck (joists repair/full stair rebuild, bracing) as well as change all the surface boards to give it a new refreshed look. Peter was transparent and reasonable throughout the project. His communication is excellent and he takes a lot of pride in his work. Peter’s pricing is very reasonable and he found ways to stretch my tight budget as far as possible and make my deck come to life. He also is very diligent about keeping the job site tidy and he always looked out for our safety when the project was ongoing. Peter worked tirelessly to keep us on schedule and his work is professional He was extremely accommodating to small requests and had really good execution and follow up. Peter has done a stellar job and I will definitely use him again for future deck projects. This man is a god send. Pictures show before and after which speak volumes."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Removing a load-bearing wall affects the structural integrity of your home, so you’ll need a permit before starting the work. Building codes vary by municipality, and obtaining a permit and having the work inspected after completion will ensure you’re in compliance with all applicable regulations.

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.
