"Hi there, I am Mack of HandyMack. We are going to answer point by point to your grievances. Let me start by highlighting that our estimates are ?based solely upon the project description and initial inspection of the project worksite. Estimate could change upon discovery of the need for additional work and or materials once the project has started.? We, here at HandyMack are fair and honest, so we give every client a copy of our estimate, which includes what our work will be and a description of what is to be done. First, I want to say this an old house made up mostly of drywall. We built a FRAME over the old drywall on the ceiling, and made a new drop-down ceiling made up of sheetrock as requested. The contract we have on hand, Never stated that we needed to leave it ready for paint. This is exactly what we originally agreed to in the contract. Pal was content with the job and praised our work so he paid us in full. Pal then decided that he wanted additional work done, which was to tape and compound on the ceiling as well. Hence the additional work that he did not want to honor. In one instance, Pal offered to pay us $15 to install 70ft of baseboard in his hallway. This would not even be enough to cover my worker?s wage. Second, our contract states for a baseboard installation of approximately 600ft long for the amount 500 dollars. We installed the baseboard, but then he decided I also needed to caulk and install sheet molding along all the baseboard, which was NOT in our estimate, and is a clear augmentation of work that he did not want to honor. For which he DID NOT PAY us the 500 dollars after having installed the baseboards, and still owes us that money. We install all baseboards meticulously and properly as we have done with every other client countless time, but being that this an old house made up of drywall that is mostly uneven by now, the baseboard just needed caulking around the edges, which we was NOT requested in the original estimate. Our motto is that we don?t stop until the client is content and satisfied, but this client did not honor any changes in the workload. Hence I respectfully went to him, gave back his keys, I told him we could no longer work with him. We then threatened to make false accusations about his experience on HomeAdvisor. But WE were so adamant about no longer working with this client to the point that we walked out on the following jobs: resurface wooden floor, carpet installation in the living room, tile installation in the kitchen, roof repair, built and install wooden fence around house. HandyMack is surprised by the actions of HomeAdvisor by allowing such a person to post lies about his experience with us. HomeAdvisor did not refer this customer to us, nor did this customer find us through HomeAdvisor (he ran into us). We don?t see this as being just because we proudly display an enlarged HomeAdvisor bumper sticker on our vans, and he only resorted to HomeAdvisor in order to be vengeful by giving us the O"
