"Overall, Mark (owner of Nail & Pails) was extremely professional and personable, and our counter top looks beautiful. Mark returned our phone call in a timely manner and was very prompt in responding to our inquiry, scheduling a visit within the week. He came to see us for a consultation to determine if the job was within the scope of his ability, which it was, and we discussed the specific details of our situation (extending counter top, not having a beveled edge, L corner, floating installation). We purchased our counter top from another retail store and Mark worked around the arrival schedule as we waited for it to come in. He also quoted us a specific price and a specific amount of time to complete the job. As far as the actual work goes, Mark was extremely detailed oriented and he took special precaution when combining the two counter tops at the corner. Rather than just gluing at the corner, he created a system to combine them underneath to create a tight joint, and used glue as a secondary support. This is just one example of how he went above and beyond expectations to provide us with a better service. Though Mark worked diligently, it took him a few extra hours to complete the job. He honored his original price despite working extra hours and was very thorough with the clean up afterward; he even volunteered to take away some of the extra old counter top! We did have some unforeseen house issues arise throughout the installation, and Mark had solutions to each one, but he also informed us of approximate prices while he was fixing the problems so we were not taken by surprise when our total was slightly higher than the quoted price. Throughout the process, Mark offered solutions to other kitchen remodeling questions (cabinet wall space, tile backsplash, etc.) and he volunteered to help us with other projects if we needed help. At the end of this process, we have a beautifully installed counter top that has held up well over time. Additionally, Mark was easy to talk to and very pleasant. It has nothing to do with a bad computer board. This company looks for a way to deny claims. i had one other claim and they tried to deny it as well. Save yourself some agravation and stay away. They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"My initial contact with Leelands was 10 years ago. I really admired the work they had done on my neighbors house. I just couldn't afford slate repair or replacement at the time. The employees were always courteous and patient. Fast forward to May 2018, I had exhausted all the patching my roof could take. I contacted Leelands, Donna promptly scheduled Luke to come out for an estimate. Luke was on time and provided honest feedback. I recieved a Photo Report, Field Condition Report and Proposals a few weeks later. It took me a few more months to decide how to proceed. In October, Leelands sent Gabriel and Miguel to make the repairs. They were prompt, courteous and worked diligently to finish the job. After a rainy 2018, my roof is still leak free."

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must. 

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Pressure-treated wood can not only be painted and stained, but it should be; doing so will help to prevent surface or deck board cracking. Allow the wood to dry out before painting it, as pressure-treated wood from the hardware store takes longer to dry than kiln-dried lumber. If water beads on the surface, it needs additional time to dry—in fact, it can take weeks or even months to fully dry. As soon as the wood absorbs water on the surface, it is ready to be painted or stained.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.
