"This was a scheduled "two day" activity - The tub one day and the floor two days later. The complete work met or exceeded our expectations! In preparation, all walkway areas were draped with drop cloths or 5 mil plastic sheeting (chemical area). Mr Sicko explained the overall work activity and answered all of my wife's questions or concerns before starting. We opted for a tub color enhancement, for an additional cost, so that our old "bright white" 1950's tub would now match the American Standard replacement toilet shade of white (a slightly softer, "creamer" shade). The tile floor refinishing was equally impressive. The old grey/white tiles with areas of patch work repair behind the toilet and any discolored grot lines were now a uniform color of light grey ("stone") with a slightly flecked surface giving the floor the desired very clean appearance."
"Phil and his team at Five Star Bath Solutions of Latham did a fantastic job from start to finish. They transformed our ordinary bathtub space with a beautiful walk in shower. They were professional and attentive to every last detail. Including when the job was complete, they made sure the workspace was immaculate. If there was a rating for better than perfect, that would be my choice for Five Star Bath Solutions of Latham !!"
"I cannot recommend Five Star Bath Solutions enough. Felicia Trifaro showed me all the possibilities, and helped me select all the materials used in both bathroom renovations. Phil Trifaro took accurate measurements and informed of the installation process. They worked with my schedule on installation time. Now time for installation, Phil introduced us to both installers, Latchmal and Rocky and got our renovations started. He and Felicia also stopped in to make sure our projects were running smoothly. Our workmen paid excellent attention and were meticulous with all details. Their work was accurate and precise in every aspect. Our projects took four days to complete. Each evening we went over what had been done, everything was cleaned picked up and stored for the next days work, in addition to being informed regarding what would come next. Thursday came and the jobs were both complete. I am totally amazed at the extraordinary results!! Everything is lovely!Thank you Five Star Bath Sol"
"This was the second attempt to install my tub liner as the first installer cut the liner short and may have damage a couple of wall tiles in the process. A new tub liner had to be reordered and a different installer by the name of Paul Norton came out to the house to complete the job with a new liner. Paul was very courteous and professional in explaining everything that had to be done and even was able to repair the damaged tiles in a satisfactory manner. Except for the inconvenience of needing to have Bath Fitter come to my house for a second time to complete the job that should have been completed on the first try, I am happy with the final result and Especially the installer (PAUL NORTON) that came to the house the second time and finished the job. A Big Thank You to PAUL NORTON for a job well done."
"We replaced our bathtub with a walk in shower, and are extremely happy with the work that was provided. In only took one person 6 hours to complete the job, and he was very professional and the quality of work was great. Would hire them again."
"Ani and his brother were timely, communicative and sent updates when each piece of work was done. The old pool house old building had issues that were revealed as work progressed, and Ani gave me quotes for what each repair would cost. He also helped me pick tile, explain why a floor covering of tile would make more sense than wood in the house. He painted, replaced the roof, created a vent, and created a shutoff switch for the pipe so that a leak might not happen in the future. Above all, the project was completed on time within his estimates. In addition, he was very good to work with and together the project came together very well. He was clear and direct, which is how I like working with someone. I would recommend A&K construction and will definitely hire them again for future projects."

"Rome Bath Remodeling recently installed a new shower in our home that was built in 1938. Knowing full well that it would not be an easy job, Phil and Dave took on the challenge and did an exceptional job.
They kept us informed throughout the process and the shower is beautiful!
Thanks to both of you!"
"Frank made our mudroom addition so much easier than we ever imagined. He is extremely organized, creative, timely, and excellent with communication. There were a couple of surprises based on work done prior to us buying the home and Frank was very informative and straightforward when discussing our options. His quality of work is great, he focuses on one project at a time to ensure timely completion, and he kept us up to date every step of the way. He also replaced our front porch and we are extremely happy we chose him for the job."
Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts
Small bathroom renovation costs don’t have to break the bank. A $5,000 budget is realistic, provided you're not adding luxurious fittings or making complex layout changes. Changing the layout is the most costly aspect of renovating a bathroom. So if you keep the layout, do some of the job DIY (within your skillset), and use relatively affordable fixtures and accessories, you should be able to stay within your budget.
DIY installation of a walk-in tub is not recommended as it is a challenging and risky project that requires advanced plumbing knowledge. Professional installation is crucial to ensure a proper and safe setup, water-tight conditions, adherence to local building codes, and the preservation of your product's warranty.
Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.
It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.
Completing a full standard bathroom remodel offers the best value, with an average return on investment (ROI) of 70%. However, you don't need a full remodel to make an impact. To maximize value, focus on key components like flooring, the tub and shower, vanity, and cabinets. High-value upgrades include installing a walk-in shower, resurfacing a tub, retiling, or expanding the shower. For more budget-friendly options that still increase value, consider repainting with a light, neutral color, or updating the mirror and light fixtures. It's also crucial to address any necessary repairs, such as leaks, mold, or cracked tiles, as buyers will notice these issues. Avoid flashy upgrades like bathtub jets or steam showers, which don't add as much value.
