"What started as a deck rebuild turned into a three season room addition. Matt and his crew were easy to work with, offered some great suggestions to us, and the finished room is more than we hoped for! We loved his suggestion of putting pine on the vaulted ceiling, and the finish work at the bottom on the outside looks great. Matt took care to match our 20 year old siding, and finish the windows and doors to exactly match the others on the house."

"Mike did incredible work transforming our terribly flipped primary bathroom into something my husband and I both enjoy. I reached out to him and he was able to provide a quote to completely gut our bathroom, reframe the shower, add heated flooring, retile the floor and shower, and install a new vanity and mirrors within a few days. He took ~5 weeks to remodel our bathroom, coming to our house every weekday arriving between 8-9 and leaving between 4-5, always with texts with his ETA and updates on the work he was able to accomplish that day. Any discovery work that was found was included in his updates. Towards the end of the remodel some surprise work came up with pieces we were hoping to reuse but were unable to, Mike did a great job handling these surprises and providing timeline updates/working with us to accommodate these last minute changes. I highly recommend Mike for any remodeling job in your house. His communication, punctuality, and craftsmanship speaks for itself."

"Billy did two full bathroom renovations for me. He was time and cost efficient, patient with some product delays, helped educate me as a first-time remodeler and I’m very happy with the end result."

"Our main bedroom desperately needed to be painted, and Farzad brought the room back to life with fresh paint on the walls and trim. He was extremely professional and communicative which was important during A large snow event . We look forward to working with F and D again."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Dark academia is more of an interior decorating style than it is a type of architecture, but it calls on themes prevalent in gothic architecture. Part of the appeal of dark academia is that you can achieve the look and feel without renovating or remodeling your home. Instead, you can switch to a dark color palette and introduce metal, natural wood furniture, plaid decor, old books, and gothic decor to get the look and feel just right.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.
