Depending on your type of carpet, a wet/dry vacuum is a great final step to removing blood stains, but it will only help after you’ve used another method to pull out the bulk of the stain. A good option is to use a wet cleaning method, then apply baking soda to the stain, and then follow that by vacuuming thoroughly. Remember that this vacuum type does not work on all carpet types. If your wood furniture is sticky after already cleaning it, it’s likely from using too many polishes or waxes. You’ll need to remove some of the excess wax with a cloth and warm water mixed with dish soap. You can then reapply the wax or polish afterwards, but try to use a much smaller amount and wipe away any excess.

You can use saddle soap to clean a leather sofa, but use it sparingly. Saddle soap cleans and conditions leather but can be too harsh for some types of furniture. Test it first on a small, unnoticeable part of the sofa to avoid accidentally damaging it. Apply a small amount with a damp cloth, gently work it into the leather, and wipe off the excess with a clean, dry cloth.
